To all of our clients,

We wish to alert everyone that bird flu has been detected on mainland Australia which is incredibly worrying.

We kindly ask that you take the time to read the poster attached to this post and follow guidelines carefully. For any wild bird, do not touch or move the bird to prevent any disease spread.

We advise the public to call the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Beautiful Eddie visited us yesterday for some surgery.

Such a brave boy and even snagged himself a cool bandana!

Such a sweetie and we are so proud of him for being such a star. He sailed through his surgery like a champion.

Pictured here with his personal nurse for the day, Bec and getting some well deserved cuddles.

We are all about the cuddles at Pets Life ♥️ 💕

We will be closed on Monday 8th June for the public holiday.

Unfortunately due to circumstances, there is no vet available for afterhours only on Tuesday 9th June. We are open during the day as normal.

For Tuesday night only, alternative care would need to be sought and this would be in Hobart at the Animal Emergency Service 24/7 hospital.

Normal service of after-hours will resume on Wednesday evening.

Vetchat triage service is always available for immediate contact with a vet on the phone by calling our regular number.

Thank you for your understanding. Xx ❤️

We are currently experiencing a phone line outage which is affecting multiple customers. We have been advised things should be resolved within the next 3 hours (hopefully sooner).

Apologies for the disruption. If you need to make contact, please send through an email and we will respond as soon as possible.

Thank you again. The Pets Life Team xx

Another fabulous year of running for the Pets Life Crew. All running for different reasons and setting challenges for themselves.

Missing one fabulous runner from our photo Kate McIntyre 🥰. She ran too fast 🤣

Huge congrats to Lauren and Dan, Kirsti, Tracey and Mark (we had husbands joining again this year!)

What a fantastic festival and wonderful thing to share with work mates.

Thanks personally to my mum, dad and wonderful husband for being my support crew ❤️

On 17th April 2026 we celebrated 1 year in our new building 🎉
A number of people realised, except me 😂!!

In true “busy vet” fashion, the date completely passed me by until my wonderful team surprised me with the loveliest card, kind messages and thoughtful words that honestly left me feeling emotional, grateful and very blessed.

When we opened the doors to our new practice a year ago, we hoped to create somewhere that felt welcoming, caring and supportive — not just for pets, but for the people who love them too. To see how much support, kindness and trust we’ve received from our clients over the past year truly means more than I can put into words.

To every single person who has brought their pets to us, recommended us, sent cards and flowers, baked treats, written kind reviews, or simply shown patience and understanding during difficult times — we thank you.

Veterinary work can sometimes be a difficult profession to be part of, particularly when difficult conversations must be had. Saying goodbye to a loved one, discussions about costs or difficult diagnoses can impact everyone.

What many people don’t always see is that behind every appointment is a huge team of dedicated people, advanced equipment, medications, laboratory testing, surgical facilities, training, emergency care and the day-to-day running costs needed to provide safe, high-quality care for your pets. Every decision we make is driven in wanting to give our patients the best care possible.

I also think it’s important to touch on negative comments made about this profession — whether publicly online or sometimes even directly to veterinary teams — they can have a far deeper impact than many people ever realise. Behind the uniforms are human beings who care deeply, who carry the emotional weight of this job every single day, and who often take those comments home with them long after the working day has ended.

Our team works incredibly hard because we genuinely care — often emotionally as well as professionally — and the support and kindness we receive from our wonderful clients really does mean the world to us. You may never know how much that changes the day for someone.

One year on, I feel enormously proud of what we’ve built together and so thankful for the support of this amazing community and my incredible team. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Also, thank you so much for all of your understanding while the carpark undergoes its transformation! I cannot thank you enough for being so kind while we get through this next phase of restoration!

Here’s to the next chapter!

With love, Dr Jen Griffiths 🐾❤️

📢 Notice to Our Clients 📢

Please be advised that the clinic will be closed on Monday 18th May due to essential staff training.

As part of our commitment to providing the best possible care and service, our team will be taking the opportunity to learn and train together. This dedicated training time is incredibly important in helping us continue to grow, improve, and support our clients to the highest standard.

Our phone lines will reopen from 4:00pm until the clinic closes at 5:30pm.

During this time, VetChat will still be available for consultations (please note that a fee applies for this service).

Should your pet require urgent veterinary attention while the clinic is closed, alternative veterinary care will need to be sought on this day only.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate your understanding and support while our team undertakes this valuable training opportunity.

With sincere thanks, Dr Jen Griffiths

**UPDATE 3/6/26**

To our dear clients, our car park is CURRENTLY CLOSED for an urgent upgrade and repair. We have notified people via text message for those with appointments coming up and will continue to do so as the next 1-2 weeks proceed.

**We are experiencing some delays with the putting down the final layer of the carpark due to weather and sadly this is very much out of our hands. The team are doing their best to get this done as quickly as possible.**

If you need help to get your pet into the clinic, please phone ahead and we will work together to keep things running smoothly.

Parking at the undercover CH Smith car park is advised in this interim period.

I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience but these repairs and upgrades are urgently required for safety and continued upgrade to the building and its surrounds 😊.

Thank you, as ever for your understanding as I continue to improve this beautiful building.

Best wishes, Dr Jen xx 🥰
