Ironbark Ridge Alpacas

Ironbark Ridge Alpacas We are a Hawkesbury based alpaca stud. Ironbark Ridge Alpacas was created in 2001 by Fiona and Andrew Maxwell.

We have alpacas and fleece for sale, and are happy to provide advice to newcomers to the industry or who just want a couple of pets. We've been in the industry for over 15 years so if you want knowledge and experience then you've come the right place. Our animals are beautiful, sweet natured and each has a personality of its own. We have animals for sale, with the full range of support, and can ev

en supply you with portable fencing products specifically designed to cater for your new pets/livestock/family members.

The coolest is first to the good grass. Going for a swim in the dam, keeps you cool on hot days.

And another Shearing Year is done… Only 23 this time…
Always nice to get them sorted, and particularly in time for the heatwave that is inbound.

On the road again to Waratah Alpaca Fibre with another float load of alpaca fleece.

We’ve squeezed all we can into this run. We’ll be sure and post some photos soon of our “helpers”.

One of our 6 month old baby alpacas was attacked and killed this morning (6/7/22) by at least one stray/wild dog. This was just off the end of Hilltop Road, Tennyson.
When we noticed he was missing we started searching and three of us spotted a white Malamute/Husky on our property, running from where we found the little bloke. He had been killed and partially eaten.
We have reported it to the Ranger.
However until the dog is found please be on the look out for your stock or your neighbour’s. For those in the immediate area, if anyone knows of an animal fitting this description please let us know [email protected] and the Ranger (via Hawkesbury Council 45604444).
Take care during this horrible weather.
Andrew and Fiona Maxwell

We are excited to have been notified today of our inclusion in the prestigious 2021 Archibull Program and we are seeking some community support for our students. Our students are focusing on Australian Fibre industries and we are asking for community members to donate their old, unwanted, cotton, linen and wool clothes etc. We will take old jeans and shirts, table clothes, balls of wool etc for inclusion in our art installation and community action project.
We will take donations at our stand at the Hawkesbury Show next to the cattle sheds, where we can be found with TAFE NSW Richmond and WSU. You can also contact us re our other drop
