⚠️Fireworks in Korumburra this morning at 10.15

🎆Korumburra Fireworks Warning 🎆
When: Friday 21 August at 10:15am.
Where: Korumburra Secondary College for Science Week.

Fireworks are always a joy to behold, but for many animals it can be disorientating or distressing.

Here are some quick tips from the RSPCA to help your pets during the fireworks display:
🐈 Keep both cats and dogs indoors to reduce the risk of them escaping.
🐕 Ensure your dog has had plenty of exercise and a good meal a few hours before the display. This can help reduce their anxiety.
🐕 If at home with your dog, try playing with them like you normally would and reward their calm behaviour.
🎵 Some animals find soft music or the sounds of the TV comforting.
🐕 Try to not have your dog tethered on a collar or lead during the fireworks. Dogs are known to panic and it can pose a choke risk.
🐕 In the event they escape, making sure your dog is microchipped with up-to-date details. This can help them be identified quickly and returned to your care.

As deadly H5 bird flu spreads among wild birds in Australia, the Biodiversity Council is urging dog owners to keep their pets leashed around beaches, lakes and rivers to protect wildlife, their dogs and their families.
An extra precaution we are recommending is a muzzle. Muzzles are fantastic for ensuring your dog will not pick up anything on a walk and will give you great peace of mind 🐶
