Your working dog isn’t crazy 🤪
And they aren’t trying to give you a hard time. They’re having a hard time trying to fulfil instincts nobody taught you about.
One of the biggest mistakes I see is owners choosing a breed based on appearance, popularity or recommendations from friends without understanding what that dog was originally bred to do.
A working line Labrador isn’t the same as a show line Labrador.
A working line Border Collie isn’t the same as the family dog next door.
Genetics matter and understanding them changes everything.
Listen carefully to slide 4, can you hear the thudding noise? That’s not excitement, it’s purpose! Onyx is working scent with the intensity he was bred for and it’s exactly why a couple of laps around the block will never feel fulfilling to a dog like Onyx!
