At C Dale Ranch, our approach to training goes beyond simply putting more rides into a horse.
Our focus is on biomechanically considered training, helping each horse develop the balance, strength, suppleness and understanding required to use their body more effectively and confidently under saddle.
Whether a horse is young, green, returning to work, preparing for competition or simply needing further education, we aim to establish the correct foundations first, creating a horse that is better prepared for its future rider and discipline.
Our training may focus on:
🤍 Balance & Postural Development
Helping the horse develop improved balance, rhythm, straightness and coordination while progressively building the strength required to carry themselves and their rider.
🤍 Correct Flatwork Foundations
Establishing quality transitions, responsiveness to the aids, rhythm, suppleness, connection and the foundations required for more advanced work.
🤍 Biomechanics-Focused Schooling
Considering how the horse is using their body throughout their training and using appropriate exercises to encourage more efficient, balanced movement rather than simply completing movements.
🤍 Young & Green Horse Education
Developing groundwork, manners, confidence and ridden foundations progressively, with an emphasis on producing a willing and well-educated horse.
🤍 Back Into Work & Conditioning
A progressive return to ridden work for horses coming back from a spell, rebuilding fitness, strength and balance before increasing the demands of their training.
🤍 Poles & Jumping Development
Using poles, grids and jumping exercises to develop rhythm, coordination, confidence and adjustability alongside established flatwork.
🤍 Confidence & Further Education
For horses that need consistency, clearer foundations or additional education before progressing with their owner.
🤍 Competition Preparation
Purposeful schooling and preparation for dressage, jumping, Pony Club and other outings, with training tailored to the horse’s current level.
SALES PREPARATION & MANAGEMENT
For horses being prepared for the market, our priority is not simply creating an attractive sales video. We aim to present a horse that has been properly schooled, appropriately conditioned and honestly represented.
Sales services can include:

Every horse is different, and their training program should reflect that.
We don’t believe in rushing horses through a predetermined program simply to achieve a quick result. Training is progressed according to the individual horse’s education, strength, confidence and understanding, with the aim of creating foundations that remain valuable long after the horse leaves our care.
The goal is not simply a horse that performs well for the trainer, but a horse that understands its work and is better equipped to continue progressing with its owner.
