Found as stray, friendly female German Shepherd. She was found on Barton Street in Katoomba and is in good condition.

She does not have a microchip so proof of ownership will be required.

Who doesn't love kittens? BUT there are far too many! As the new kitten season starts we need your help to prevent kitten overload!

🐈‍⬛ While kittens are adorable little balls of energy and joy, there are simply too many kittens around, far more than we and every other shelter/rescue can help and find loving homes for. We need to prevent this by cat population control via desexing!

🐈 Last breeding season Blue Mountains Animal Care Centre - BMACC took in around 250 unwanted, dumped, stray and orphaned kittens. Some were only days old, some dumped with mum, some all alone, many sick and a few already dying.... simply heartbreaking. Just when we were at our fullest and exhausted.... there was always another litter of kittens to save.

🐈‍⬛ We worked hard to save every kitten and mostly we suceeded - with hard work,TLC and a lot of bottle feeding through long nights.... These all went on to be sucessfully adopted. Without the incredible help of our foster carers, staff and vets this simply wouldn't have been possible.

🐈Not every kitten gets this happy ending... many are born without care, get common preventable diseases and die too soon.

Here's how you can help prevent such suffering:

✨️ get your pet cat desexed NOW in spring before they are mating or pregnant

✨️ advocate for early desexing and help spread the word about subsidised schemes

✨️ if you know of stray or unowned cats that are breeding reach out to charity schemes such as Stray Care by RSPCA.

✨️ stay tuned for advice on what to.do if you find kittens this spring.

Andrea came into our care as a stray and can be a little shy when meeting new people. She's looking for a patient and loving family who will give her the time and reassurance she needs to settle in and grow in confidence.

At just 12 weeks old, Andrea has her whole life ahead of her and is ready to discover all the wonderful things that come with having a family of her own.

With a little patience, plenty of love and a safe place to call home, we're sure this gorgeous girl will blossom. ❤️🐱

Adoption Applications now open for SUZI 💖

🐾Suzi is a gorgeous female Pug cross who is nearing her first birthday.

🐾She is desexed, healthy and ready to start a new life after being found as a stray.

🐾Suzi is a delightful, joyful and energetic little lady who loves attention.

🐾Suzi is very affectionate and adores people. She would be a good fit for most families. She can be a bit of a princess and may be demanding of attention
🐾Suzi is good with dogs of her own size and energy level but finds big dogs a bit intimidating. Any potential canine housemates will need to be introduced first.

🐾Suzi would not be a good fit for a home with cats.

🐾 Suzi's ideal new home would be with folks who are home more often than not- after all a princess needs a lap available as often as possible!

Found 16 year old Kelpie called "Stan" wandering near Leura Mall. He is in good condition.

Prevent unwanted breeding and cat over population!

🐾 THE 2026/2027 KITTEN SEASON HAS BEGUN! 🐾

The first kittens of the 2026/2027 kitten season have already landed in our foster program and sadly, we know this is only the beginning.

If you have an undesexed cat — male or female — PLEASE reach out and obtain a subsidised desexing voucher BEFORE you add to the problem.

If you have a stray cat visiting your yard, we can also help you get that cat desexed before one cat becomes a colony.

Animal Welfare League, independent rescue groups and foster carers are already stretched to the limit with animals needing care and new homes. Animal Holding Facilities are also struggling with capacity and are being forced to turn animals away due to a lack of space.

We simply cannot keep up with the number of unwanted cats and kittens being born.

Thank you to Adopt a Dane for taking on this gorgeous boy from BMACC. He has thrived in thier specialist care and is now looking for a forever home. 🥰

Arlo met the most beautiful family yesterday while out and about. His foster family were building his confidence and letting his explore the outdoors. Imagine their suprise when he chose their lap to sit on 😂 the floor is not for this gentle man. Thank you for stopping by to pat and speak to Arlo. He was the goodest boy and lapped it up.

Arlo would be best suited to a family with time, patience and a whole of love and persistence to continue introducing him to life outside the comfort of home.
