BMD is funded through our op-shop, which is located at 114 Bathurst Road in Katoomba next to the antiques arcade. Feel free to drop in and take a look at some of our old wares, and, if you are able, drop off some donations for the cats! The donations through the shop fund our vet bills, food and medication costs, and keep our foster cats happy and healthy! Donations can be made by the donation button or via our bank details. HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR CATS LIKE CAROLINA🌟🐾

Carolina is one of the fortunate cats we have rescued from dire circumstances as part of our ongoing mission to reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens and to alleviate the suffering of animals in distress.

On Wednesday we received an urgent call letting us know that a cat had been caught in one of the traps we had left out, only to discover she was in labor. Sadly her 4 newborn kittens did not survive the ordeal.

As Caroliba was bleeding, highly stressed and still had kittens inside her, Christine quickly rushed her to Hartley Valley Vets. There, she received all the attention she desperately needed. Unfortunately, 2 additional kittens were found to be in breech and also did not survive.

We were advised that had we not intervened, Carolina would have faced an agonizing death. Thankfully, she has now been desexed and is recovering well.

We are reaching out for your support to continue our vital work. We know that times are tough, but any amount you can spare would make a significant difference and be greatly appreciated.

SPICE AND BRAZIL NUT ARE AT THE PET HEALTH HUB🌺🐾

Spice (aka Fifi) is a lovely tabby and white kitten around seven months old. With her sweet face and a dash of diva attitude, she is sure to bring joy and personality to your home.

Brazil Nut (nicknamed Gwen) is a striking black and white kitten around five months old. Her unique markings truly set her apart.

Both kittens get along wonderfully with everyone - kids, cats and kittens, and even dogs. While they may initially be a little shy, their vibrant personalities truly shine once they feel at home.

They are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and not fussy eaters.

Cody has returned to BMD due to unforeseen circumstances. His previous owner is heartbroken but only wants what is best for him and now Cody is ready to find his forever home.

This stunning tabby boy is around 8 years old and an absolute sweetheart. He adores people, loves snuggling, and just being by your side. With his big heart and affectionate nature, you are sure to fall in love.

Cody is a big boy with an equally big personality. Just a heads up, he doesn’t get along with other cats but has interacted positively with small dogs.

Cody is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and he is not a picky eater.

MEET ALMOND & HAZELNUT AT THE PET HEALTH HUB🌺

Say hello to Almond (the confident black beauty) and Hazelnut (the adorable tabby and white). These sweet sisters are around 4.5 months old and can’t wait to capture your heart.

🌼Almond, the adventurous one. She is fearless, loves exploring, and meeting new people. Almond enjoys climbing, playing and will start purring the moment you touch her. A true lap cat who looks forward to snuggling after playtime. Plus, she gets along great with other cats and small dogs.

🌼Hazelnut with her soulful eyes and gentle nature. A bit shy at first, she warms up quickly and loves to cuddle. She gets along great with other cats and while she is ok with dogs she prefers to watch from a distance when they are playing. Hazelnut enjoys lounging on her tower keeping an eye on the action, and has a soft spot for string toys.

Both kitttens are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and they aren’t picky eaters.

🚨 URGENT FOSTER CARER FOR SNOOKIE🐾

We are reaching out with an urgent plea for help.

Our dear friend and supporter, Lynne, had a serious fall resulting in spinal damage. She is currently in hospital, and her recovery will take many months including rehabilitation.

Lynne loves Snookie, her 10 year old cat, more that anything. Snookie is what keeps Lynne going and she is determined not to surrender her. However, we need a temporary home for Snookie during this time.

Snookie is a quiet cat who enjoys napping. As Snookie has never interacted with other cats it wound be best if she is the only cat.

We will provide all the food, litter and ongoing support to make this as smooth as possible for her foster carer.

If you can help us care for Snookie until Lynne can return, please contact Suzanne on 0414 953 992.

BMD’S LATEST RESCUE - 3 TINY KITTENS 💕🐾

These tiny babies were found abandoned in a box at a park in Bathurst - two white and one tabby.

At just just 3 weeks-old, they were in urgent need of help to survive the cold.

They are now safe and receiving the loving care they need. 🥰
