Today is National Threatened Species Day 🐨🦅

Living in the Riverina means we’re lucky enough to share our community with some incredible native wildlife.

If you find an injured native animal:

🐾 Keep yourself and the animal safe
🐾 Avoid unnecessary handling
🐾 Place it somewhere quiet, dark and secure if it is safe to do so
🐾 Contact a wildlife rescue organisation or veterinary clinic for advice
🐾 Never offer food or water unless you have been instructed to do so

Please call ahead before bringing an injured animal into the clinic so we can prepare for its arrival and give you the safest advice.

Together, small actions can make a meaningful difference to our local wildlife 💙

While Nurse Macey carried out Milo’s pre-anaesthetic health check, Milo was busy showing us his best modelling faces. 📸🐱✨

Before any sedation or general anaesthetic, our team performs a thorough pre-anaesthetic examination. We listen to the heart and lungs, check gum colour and hydration, take a temperature and assess the patient’s overall health.

This gives us the opportunity to identify any abnormalities or concerns before anaesthesia and make sure we can create the safest possible anaesthetic plan for each individual patient. 🩺💙
