2 bucks and a wether! Alfie (black swiss) is our nicest buck, showing epic pygmy type for his percentage of 74.25%). Young Shelby who is almost 18mths old is the agouti moonspot, he's teensy tiny and is 62.125%, and Arthur (the cream/chamoise) is a great example of what low percentage type looks like when stood next to the pygmy boys. Arthur is 35% pygmy x Australian Miniature
All of them are available for adoption. Prices are negotiable, homes are not.

Jasper & Hazel will be 3wks old this saturday, and are ready to transition to bottles, and find their new home..

Both are the best of my breeding program, moonspots without compromising on that stocky squat pygmy type! These two are bred from proven show & champion lines on both sides.

Hazel (black swiss moonspotted doeling) has exceptional type for her percentage and would suit a serious breeding home where she can go on to represent and continue to the moonspotted line in an experienced or conscientiously ambitious breeder.

Jasper (black swiss, currently a buckling) would make a wonderful starter buck, however despite is exceptional type, his percentage is too low to be of benefit in continuing improve the pygmy breed. Wethered, he would make a fantastic companion for Hazel, or pen of does. He is super inquisitive and despite being dam raised, shows the same interest in people as any bottle baby does.

Both will be registered with AABMGS if placed with a breeder homes. (Pets homed as unregistered)

Hand to Heart;
Its been a long haul, but Im game enough to say this is the first year we are finally starting to see some proof in the pudding.. we started from the bottom.
We are 4(?) generations in with zero profit.
Pygmy ≠ Profit

Our oh-so-controversial focus on non-traditional moonspots is beginning to show a foothold unto itself..

You might not recognise the underpinnings yet; but I do.

We have a ways to go, but even from back here in the 60-70% section, we are a long whisker ahead of the market, that is still missing that beefy American type. The gene pool gets quite claustrophobic up in the 80-90+% section..by some fairytale, I was warned of this on the outset.

Thats right.. I didn't figure this out by myself..
no one ever does.
I was lucky enough to build my foundation herd on Buccanwood lines. She was genuine and gracious to share this tid bit with me... she divulged that she was hearing breeders finding themselves in the 80-90 percentile range discovering that the type wasnt there, and finding few options forward.. they were fixing to start over.. 🥺

And as since, it has been the underpinning value and foundation behind building our signature moonspotted, australian pygmy bloodline.
