Tick season is already here! Learn how to best protect, prevent and search your pet for ticks using the guide provided by AEC. 🦟🌲🐾

By making sure your pets are up to date using products such as Nexgard or Bravecto and looking out for signs of paralysis you are setting your pet up for success.

Fun fact!! 📝

Although your pet may be 100% indoors, ticks can come in on your shoes, clothes or other indoor/outdoor pets. So even indoor animals are at risk and need preventatives

🐾 Ava’s mystery finally solved! 🐾

For over a month Ava battled chronic cystitis that just wouldn’t clear despite medical treatment.

Further investigation with ultrasound (5th slide) and X-rays (4th slide) revealed the real culprit… two enormous bladder stones, measuring around 3cm EACH! 😳🪨

Here atJacobs Well Vet Surgery, we performed a laparoscopically assisted cystotomy, allowing us to remove the stones through much smaller incisions than traditional surgery. In the last slide you can see how inflamed her poor bladder was and how the procedure is done.

✨ Smaller wounds
✨ Less tissue trauma
✨ Faster recovery

And the best part? Just look at that face! 🥰

Ava is feeling like herself again, happy, comfortable and ready to get back to being a dog. ❤️🐶

Sometimes, when treatment isn’t working, it’s time to look a little deeper. 🔎

Thank you for trusting us, beautiful Ava! 💕

Good morning everyone.

We have had a lovely ginger tabby cat brought in from a member of the public, found deceased on Pimpama jacobs well road, close to Woongoolba state school. Looks to have possibly been struck by a car. Has previously been to a vet as both paws are clipped where an IV catheter would have been placed. If you think this is possibly your fur baby, please give us a call on 07 5515 5935 or pop into our clinic at 3/1149 Pimpama jacobs well road. We will hold him/her for 7 days before being released for cremation.

Thanks, Jacobs well vet team.

Another Successful BOAS! One of our favourite pups has gone from a noisy dinosaur to a stealthy Ninja following his surgery here with us.

BOAS surgeries help open the air passage way for our Brachycephalic breeds (short/flat nose breeds) so they can breathe easier and reduce risk of overheating and respiratory distress that can become fatal.
