Raceview Veterinary Surgery

Raceview Veterinary Surgery The Raceview Veterinary Surgery is a privately run clinic owned by Dr Belinda Dare. We have been looking after the pets of Ipswich since 1993.

During that time we have cared for thousands of dogs and cats and have had the pleasure of watching our patients grow from boisterous young puppies and kittens into beloved silver-muzzled seniors. When you visit the Raceview Veterinary Surgery you are not just a face in the crowd, you are a valued client and are greeted by name. Our staff all genuinely care about animals and their welfare and will

work together with you to ensure your pet receives the highest standard of patient care. If you have any questions we would be delighted to hear from you, just call (07) 3288 6988 or send us an email.

Meet Kevin – Looking for His Forever Home! 🐈

This handsome 9-year-old domestic long hair has been in our care for the past 2 weeks after being surrendered, and he's ready to find a family of his own.

Kevin is friendly, affectionate and loves a good cuddle. He's healthy, fully vet-checked and completely up to date on vaccinations and preventatives so he's ready to settle straight into a new home.

Kevin would do best as the only pet in the household, where he can enjoy all the attention to himself, or in a household with a calm older dog.

If you think Kevin could be the missing piece in your family, give us a call on 07 3288 6988 or drop by Raceview Vet Surgery to meet him in person.

Let's find this gorgeous boy his forever home. 💛

*Trigger Warning - Confronting Scenes*
It has been heartbreaking to see and hear the devastating effect that H5N1 Avian Influenza outbreak is having already in our southern states.
With positive cases now confirmed in every state in Australia it is important to be vigilant and aware of the impact it is likely going to have here in SE QLD.

As the situation unfolds we will be monitoring advice from Animal Health Australia and may need to adjust our policies to taking in sick and injured wild birds. If you find a sick or injured bird please call us on 07 3288 6988 before bringing it to the clinic.

If you find a wild bird and are concerned about possible H5N1, please remember to:
✅ Keep a safe distance where possible
✅ Keep pets and children away from the area
✅ Avoid handling or transporting the bird
✅ Contact the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888 for advice

❄️ It was a very cold morning this morning, and if you felt it, your pets probably did too!
Winter often makes the signs of arthritis and joint pain more noticeable, just like it does in us.

If you notice any of the below signs, there are a few things that can help:
- Keep them warm and dry, especially on cold mornings.
- Provide soft, supportive bedding.
- Maintain a healthy weight to reduce pressure on joints.
- Keep exercise gentle and regular rather than sudden or strenuous.
- Consider joint supplements, and talk to us about natural dietary additions such as fish oil for joint support and turmeric for its anti-inflammatory properties.

If you’d like to discuss your pet’s comfort or arrange an assessment, visit us in clinic.
