Meet the biggest cutie, Chilli. However, he is Spicy!
He is just 1 and hasn't been to a professional groomer before.
Things take time. It's a process. It is introducing tools, sounds, sensations and a whole new environment and experience. That can't happen in one session and always requires their People to help the desensitisation process at home.
So today Chilli and I didn't use the dryer. I used every deshedding tool I had to work with so I could work within his limits which was 🙅‍♂️ Hell no to the dryer thanks Ma'am. 😆
Overall his deshed was great for his skin, coat and keeping cool 😎

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

This is Ruby the old gal.
It has taken a lot of time to gain trust and understand her dislikes and pain.
She has shown her teeth and probably wouldn't object to using them. You wouldn't think so with such a cute face!
Is she muzzled at times? Yep. And do I groom her where she doesn't like to be touched just because I can? No.
Imagine having pain and reduced mobility, be on a variety of meds plus be muzzled and someone just pushes past your comfort zone...I could. After all she is muzzled. But, that is not respecting a dogs boundaries and is using our advantages in the wrong way. I still respect her even if she has the muzzle on for safety. Does she have a perfect groom nowadays, no. And that is okay. Comfort over perfection 👌🏽

Powder puff of Perfection!!

Meet Wolf 🐺

A Rough Collie 🐾

This was 2hrs and 20min of him & I working together to get his double coat (mixed with his puppy/adult combo coat for extra fun!) Into a state of near perfection.
I was able to have a wonderful chat with his owners afterwards about all things DOGS and grooming double coated breeds.
I work hard but really love my business and the people and dogs I get to meet ❤️

The last picture is the best and how ironic that he is exhausted 😂
