Meet Frankie! 🐾

This tiny little Italian Greyhound came in for his vaccination and was quite possibly the cutest little patient we’ve had in our hands! 🥹

Frankie was so teeny, he practically fit in the palm of our hands. 🥰

Safe to say, we were all a little bit obsessed! 💚

Congratulations to Natasha! Tash received the award for ‘2026 Nurse Mentor of the Year’. We are incredibly proud of her for this well deserved achievement. She is an integral part of Greencross Caloundra and the team would be lost without her!

Bird flu is making headlines, so Better Homes & Gardens asked Greencross Vets what it means for our pets.

Greencross Vets veterinarian Dr Nina shares practical advice to help pet parents understand the risks and take simple precautions.

“Bird flu can infect all mammals, so dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets can all be infected.”

From avoiding contact with sick or dead wildlife to keeping cats indoors and dogs on a leash around wildlife, a few simple steps can help reduce exposure.

Read Dr Nina’s advice and the full Better Homes & Gardens article at:

The best things really do come in pairs! From matching outfits to matching dental procedures Ace and Zero went through it all together. 🐾🥺

Ziggy came in for his castrate last week! 🐶💙 He was just too cute to resist, so naturally, he spent most of the day getting cuddles from the team! 🥰

🖤 A majestic visitor who never should have needed a trip to the vet.

This beautiful black swan was found with a fishing hook stuck in its mouth - a painful and completely preventable injury caused by discarded fishing gear.

Removing the hook required a general anaesthetic, along with pain relief to keep this feathered patient comfortable while we treated them. 🦢

A reminder to all anglers: please take your fishing line, hooks and tackle home with you or use a designated disposal bin. The Victorian Fisheries Authority advises that old fishing line should be placed in bins, or if there are no bins available, taken home, cut up and disposed of in general waste. Their Seal the Loop program also provides dedicated bins for unwanted fishing line, hooks, netting and rope. (VFA)

Discarded fishing gear can cause entanglement, injury and even death to wildlife. A few extra seconds to dispose of your gear properly can make a huge difference. 💔

🎣 Fish responsibly. Dispose responsibly. Protect our wildlife. A big thanks for the wildlife careers for bringing this amazing swan in and thanks to our team for helping 🫶🏼

🐾✨ Stella’s surgery success! ✨🐾

Sweet 11-year-old Stella recently underwent an emergency cystotomy with us to remove bladder stones. 🩺💗

After her procedure and a little time to recover, Stella is now doing amazingly well so far and almost back to being her happy self! 🥰🐶

We’re so pleased to see this beautiful girl feeling comfortable and healthy again. 💕

Mr Stanley came in for his 2nd puppy vaccination and worming 🐶

He was so brave and of course got lots of treats and cuddles from Dr Rachael and nurse Monica 🍀

Puppy vaccinations are very important to set up your dogs immune system for the rest of their life. One trip to the vet every year for a booster will keep them safe from the diseases; parvo virus, distemper, hepatitis and canine cough.

Handsome Patch has something not fun to show you all ❌
Silly boy Patch likes to chase cars sometimes and unfortunately he didn’t win this battle.
He is actually very lucky that it was just his leg and not anything worse such as internal bleeding or a punctured lung.
He was very brave and had lots of pain relief on board for some X-rays with us, then he was referred off to another vet for his leg to be pinned and screwed back together.
Patch is happily at home with his owners and starting to walk again 🐕

The most brave doggo award goes to Mr Patch 💙

Ned and his grass seed adventure 🐶

This handsome boy came into us as his dedicated owner found a grass seed under his skin. Ned’s owner searches him for grass seeds everyday as he is a very furry doggo.

With some sedation we safely removed it and gave Ned some anti inflammatory for the pain and numbed the area. He is home with his family now to sleep it off and will be back to normal tomorrow 🐾

Grass seeds are pesky little seeds that once they are imbedded, they can only go forward and not backwards 🙁

Oliver is excited because we are back to normal hours as of tomorrow 😁
Come in and say hi to our friendly nurses and don’t forget to say hi to Oliver when he is in clinic 🐾🐶
