Thats a Wrap for the 2024 show season.
Last show of the year was different to other shows. With it being judged by nominated club members, giving them the opertunity to get behind the judging table. All 3 did fantastic. Closly over seen by Sarah Falkner.

Sad news at King Coinin Rabbitry today,
Lylah's Favourite, King Coinin Rick was put to sleep.

Lylah's Favourite rabbit for the last 8 years.
The most successful rabbit in our Rabbitry, and most travelled. Making the trip to WA for Extravaganza in 2018.
Rick over his time had some great results. Including both RBAT and ANRCI's High Point Rabbit in 2018, and a number of Best in Show results to boot.

His legacy lives on, with one of his babies going BIS last weekend, along with his last litter born just days ago and many promising youngsters coming up.

We've come to the decision that Chocolate Otters don't fit with our current colour's, but these 2 are to nice cull.
So opertunity for someone else to work on Choc Otters.
Not litter mates,but from the same King Coinin Line's. Very similar age, both have shown quite secsessful this year. Although at times overshadowing each other.

A special win today,
We've had BIS's in the past with Black Otters, Ermine's, Castors, Chin's and Opals. But doing it with a Chocolate Otter was a stand out moment.

Under one of our favourite judges Sarah Falkner

BIS 4 star, King Coinin Audacity.

Finally taking out her Sibling Black Otter who has Won Best Rex and BIS or RU/BIS for the last couple of months.

King Coinin Rabbitry Hit with Calici for the 4th time.
Random rabbit lost at the start of Aug, sample collected and sent off.
No other rabbits died, we didn't think to much of it and waited for the test results. With Covid lock downs, testing had only just recommenced.
Since the death we have rearranged the rabbitry, moved practically every one of the 60+ rabbits around and every cage.

Test results came back today POSITIVE. Not what we had expected.
This is the 3rd time for RHDV2 in our rabbitry, (first time 1 death, second time 4 deaths, third time 1 death)

So this again really shows the importance of testing even single unexplained deaths.
