3900km, NT to NSW to attend an amazing 4 days with Paul Bunker from . General handling and Buried Hides. It was great to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Young Gryf worked really well after her first big road trip and I took heaps away for our NT SAR K9 team to improve our training. It was a great opportunity to work through some things with Scout and working in a totally new environment. Thankyou to Debbie from for organising and hosting 2 great workshops.

Today we started our epic road trip over to the east coast for some professional development workshops and annual recertifications for my Search and Rescue K9”s.

Over the next 6 weeks we will be attending workshops by Paul Bunker from U.S.A., USAR training, HRD recertification and USAR recertification before making our way back to the NT.

It is extremely important to continue learning as an instructor and handler. And important to constantly assess the dogs in new environments to ensure they are operationally ready.

I am looking forward to catching up with old friends and making news ones along the way. 🐕🐾

Happy International Dog Day! 🐶

To celebrate, I want to highlight the goodest boys and girls in our volunteer NT K9 Search and Rescue team. These highly-skilled doggos and handlers are trained to find missing people and are ready to deploy at a moment’s notice.

Thankyou for your ongoing commitment. 🐕🐾

USAR is one of the most dangerous disciplines for our canine partners in the search and rescue world. This is why our testing is so stringent on the dogs suitability, cause in reality this is not a sport, it’s not a hobby, this is the environment we are asking our partners to work in.

In USAR, for me, the bond you have with your canine partner is one of the most important things.

All the international teams over there are doing a great job, continue to stay safe. 🐾🐕
