🐾 FOUND DECEASED CAT 🐾

Hi everyone,

Sadly, a deceased cat has been found out the front of Holden Hill Veterinary Clinic.

The cat is black, is not microchipped, and has no visible desexing tattoo in the ears.

We will hold the cat in our care for 72 hours in the hope that we can locate their owner and give them the opportunity to say goodbye. After this time, if an owner has not been located, we will unfortunately need to proceed with cremation. 🤍🐾

If you believe this may be your cat, or you have any information that may help us identify their family, please contact Holden Hill Veterinary Clinic directly by calling the clinic during our opening hours.

Please do not rely on Facebook comments or messages, as these may not be seen immediately.

Please share this post to help us reach their family. 🤍

Be kind to your vet. As our clients know, our vets are very invested in your pets. They hurt too when you have to say goodbye. As Dr Kristian has been at the clinic so long he is often the one helping you say goodbye to your elderly pet who he met at their first vaccination. This can take a toll. We understand that losing a pet is hard, that sometimes there are no answers and money can be a factor but this is no excuse to be nasty. Please respect our vets and nurses even when it’s hard because they feel it too 💕

This month, in honour of mental health awareness, two of our vet nurses here at Holden Hill Vet Clinic are taking part in the annual push up challenge. This challenge is an international fundraiser that works towards raising funds for mental health care and awareness. The challenge in Australia pushes participants to complete 3,307 push ups over 23 days, a total that directly corresponds to the 3,307 lives lost to su***de in Australia each year (last statistic from 2024 and not exclusive to the vet industry).

The veterinary industry in Australia (vets, nurses and techs) experience disproportionately high rates of burnout, anxiety, and depression in comparison to the rest of the country.
Research shows that two in three vet nurses/techs experience signs of burnout, and nearly half lack workplace support, with vets being four times more likely to die by su***de than the general Australian population. Up to 70% of veterinary staff experience chronic job burnout, and in 65% of staff, compassion fatigue was reported as their primary well-being challenge. These statistics combined directly lead to many incredible staff leaving the industry every year.
While Holden Hill Vet Clinic strives to support all of the staff as much as they can, there are many holes throughout the industry that fall short in their care of veterinary staff.

If you wish to help Nurse Lachlan and Nurse Rhys with their fundraising goals please feel free to donate any amount you can to the links below under their names.

Help raise funds for much-needed mental health services and initiatives by donating to my page. I’m completing The Push-Up Challenge to support this great cause and would love your help to reach my fundraising target.

We have had a young female Boxer brought into the clinic. She is approximately 6 months old, brown in colour with white markings on her face.

Unfortunately, she is not microchipped, and we have been unable to locate her owner.

If you believe this may be your dog, or know who she belongs to, please contact the clinic with proof of ownership.

Please share to help reunite this sweet girl with her family. ❤️
