We understand that pets do not always need veterinary care during regular business hours. To support our clients when urgent concerns arise, we offer an after-hours veterinary service.

If you require veterinary assistance after hours, please call our clinic on 08 9787 2816
Our recorded message will provide you with a separate after-hours number to contact the veterinarian on call.

📞 When calling the after-hours number, please leave a message including:

➖Your name
➖Your contact number
➖A brief description of your pet’s condition or concern

Our on-call veterinarian may already be attending to another patient or managing an emergency. If you have not received a return call within 30 minutes, we recommend contacting your next preferred after-hours veterinary service to ensure your pet receives care as promptly as possible.

🚨If you believe your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please do not wait for a return call. We recommend travelling directly to the nearest 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital, located in Mandurah.

Congratulations to the gorgeous Penelope! 💕🐶

This very cute 9-year-old Bull Terrier is a patient at our Collie Vet Hospital and recently came in for her Senior Wellness Month check-up, including blood tests and a faecal (poo 😜) sample.

Her results were tracking with her current symptoms, but we also had a little surprise find… Penelope tested positive for hookworm! 🪱😳

This is a great reminder of why keeping your pet’s worming treatment up to date is so important — and why we include a faecal test as part of our senior diagnostics. Sometimes there can be things going on that aren’t obvious from the outside!

Thankfully, we caught it and can get Penelope sorted. 🩺❤️

‼️Snake Bite Season‼️

While it may not seem possible with the weather this week – snakes are on the move!

Dr Teanna has seen two tiger snakes sunbathing on roads in the local area in the last week, which serves as an important reminder that snake season is here. 😱

🚨If you suspect your pet may have been bitten by a snake – DON’T WAIT!
Symptoms can appear within minutes, and can turn life threatening rapidly

Watch for these symptoms, which can appear within minutes or take hours:
• Progressive weakness or paralysis
• Dilated pupils
• Breathing difficulties
• Irregular heartbeat
• Muscle spasms
• Collapse or unsteadiness
• Vomiting
• Excessive bleeding

📞If your suspect your pet has been bitten, phone the clinic immediately so we can prepare for your arrival. Even if you aren’t certain, phone us anyway on 9787 2816
