Yolanda is advanced salon certified, multi award winning in the grooming show ring and studying her Master Certification. A comfortable environment for your loved one designed to be a second home to ease grooming and separation anxiety. They've met. Now move.
Yep. Move away

Not because anything went wrong.
Quite the opposite.
The dogs met.
There was a quick sniff.
They still look comfortable.
So we tend to think, "great, leave them to it".

Ever heard the phrase “it's about to turn to custard”?
Because it can.

And if you have a nervous greeter, oh, we really don't want that.
That's why these tiny meetings can be so useful.

A few seconds.
Then move away.

Because now we get to see something we couldn't see while they were still together.

What do they choose next?
Does one immediately want to head back?
Do both?
Does one hang back?
Does one suddenly look far more comfortable now there's some space between them?
Because while two dogs are right there, nose to nose or nose to body, we're watching the greeting.

When we move them apart, we get to SEE the choice.
And that choice can tell us an awful lot.

For a nervous dog, those tiny meetings can also be much easier than one long interaction they don't know how to leave.
Meet.
Move away.
Watch.
Maybe they meet again.
Maybe they don't.

The goal isn't to get three seconds and then force another three.

It's to give both dogs a chance to tell us whether they actually want the next three.

And for a nervous dog?
Having that choice can be a pretty big deal.
