Colic = abdominal pain / digestive upset. Colic doesn’t always mean a twist. Most often it’s gas build-up, gut slow-down, or spasm in the hindgut. Stress, travel, new grass, weather changes can all trigger it.
Signs to know: restlessness, curling lip, reduced manure OR scouring, gurgling OR no gut sounds and looking at flank area.
My 3 fundamentals to support a calm belly: 🌼
1. Forage first, low sugar, consistent routine
2. Support the gut lining — Chamomile is traditionally used as antispasmodic + anti-inflammatory
3. Support gas + motility — Fennel may help regulate digestion + encourage appetite, Peppermint may support soothing of the digestive tract.
That’s exactly why I formulated Belly-Balance. 100% natural ingredients, hand-blended and most importantly super palatable. Mix in feed or brew as tea + syringe in emergencies.
I feed daily for 3 months minimum for best results with colic prone horses.
Save this for colic season. 🐴
