Happy 5th Birthday to our beautiful MH2 litter — born 06.06.21 🎉🐾

It is hard to believe five years have already passed since this gorgeous litter arrived. We were lucky enough to keep our gorgeous Rubi, originally Annika, and she has continued to be such a loved part of Eureka Shepherds.

Wishing all of Rubi’s littermates the happiest birthday today. We hope they are all being spoilt and loved as much as they deserve.

We would absolutely love to see updated photos of everyone, and we hope to catch up with as many of you as possible at our next Eureka Shepherds get-together in June/July. 🐾

Good Morning Families!

Catch up post for any and all Eureka Shepherds!!! and those that are on the wait list or would just love to come check out our awesome dogs!

Comment your best weekend and time to catch up somewhere friendly for a few German Shepherds on the Sunshine Coast or close too. (Off Leash Beach, Large Dod Park, Oval or Sports ground)

Either during June or July and will try to make it work for majority.

Yes it will be cold for us, but it gives them a chance to burn so good winter calories with out over heating.

Happy 1st Birthday G Litter!
I can't believe how fast time is going. The saying the older you the faster time goes is so true!

Harper in her open crate that she took her self off to, but who thinks her look is like mums?
Who else has mums or sister Rubi's so sad puppy dog eyes 😍🤣
This is actually Rubi excited to go for a drive (we were asking her out of the boot to sit up in the middle with us 😆)
Her mum Maggie almost had the same look - didn't have my phone on me for her look 😳

Bones
ALWAYS ALWAYS supervise
My dogs have been raw fed since day dot, but Rubi twice in the last fortnight got meaty bones stuck in her teeth. Thankfully didnt choke, it was the sinew parts got caught around her teeth and need assistance to dislodge.
Today is an emu neck cut down for daily bone so very soft bone.

As this seems to be going around especially sunshine coast at the moment
The recovery is like for us, rest, hydration, good nutrition and a lot of ❤️

🥳 Most dogs with kennel cough get better without antibiotics

Yep… even though antibiotics are still being handed out all the time.

✅ Kennel cough is usually mild, self-limiting, and in many cases is viral

👉 Antibiotics don’t work on viruses
👉 Most dogs just need time + support

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺…
But they should be for the dogs that are actually really unwell because the more we overuse them, the less effective they become when we truly need them.

👉 We should only be using antibiotics when they are absolutely necessary.

Harpers 1st day at the beach, she eventually got excited to get wet and sandy
Rubi was still in protect mode of Harper and couldn't enjoy the water, will take Harper with Maggie next time as Maggie doesn't care about other people or dogs and does her own thing. Which is something Harper needs to learn.
So to burn off more energy we stopped into Bandit & Brett favourite spot, yes a cemetery - not many people if any most of the time we go - loads of smells and space to run while keeping respect and staying of graves.
