I've had a few clients contact me this week, asking if Dramatic Paws would be raising prices to compensate for the new laws prohibiting businesses from passing on EFTPOS card fees to clients.

The short answer is nope.

I have always absorbed the fees as a cost of operating, and I will continue to. There will be no price increase related to EFTPOS fees. The cost of your service will stay the exact same.

I take any price rise very seriously, and consider these only in the new year and/or new financial year. I've kept it this way so that people can anticipate and plan when/if price increases happen.

🎆 🎄 CHRISTMAS & 2027 APPOINTMENTS 🎄🎆

As we slide into the last bit of 2026, it's time to make sure that you have your grooming appointments booked in!

I have SIX December spots available for EXISTING CLIENTS ONLY. If you haven't yet booked a December appointment, I would encourage you to message and book ASAP, to avoid disappointment.

Bookings for 2027 are also open! If you are an organised little bean, and prefer to book for the year, I have opened my calendar for 2027, and am accepting appointments.

Thanks to everyone who has locked in appointments for the rest of the year. My books are now closed to new clients until February 2027!! You're all super awesome and I adore you!!

QUICK NOTE TO CLIENTS WHO BOOK AS THEY GO.

Appointments for the remainder of 2026 are already filling up fast. I have tentatively closed my books to new clients for the remainder of 2026, to make sure that existing clients have access to appointments as needed. However, if you book your appointments as you go, you may find it a little harder to secure a spot that works best for you.

If you would like to book the rest of your appointments for the year, please send me a message. Securing your appointments early means no second guessing, no worrying, and the security of having a spot saved just for you.

I will always try to accommodate changes and appointments, but remember - I'm one weirdo in a small home salon just doing their best. No staff no time off, just a small business with a big heart.

✨ UPDATES ON PRICING ✨

The new financial year comes with a few changes to pricing that will affect all small and medium grooms, as well as bath and tidy services.

In order to continue to offer one-on-one appointments that give your pups the time and care they deserve, all small grooms will increase by $15, and medium grooms will increase by $20. Baths and tidies will also increase in price slightly, while extra time surcharges will still stay at the standard price.

Discounts for clients who I see every 4 weeks or less will still apply, as will the discount for registered Service Dogs. If your SD sees me every 4 weeks or less, they are still eligible for both discounts!

I know money is tight for everyone, so I have been very careful to raise prices only as much as is absolutely necessary to keep the doors open and the lights on. Dramatic Paws will always be committed to being competitively and fairly priced, with the cost of a private session often still less expensive than in larger, busier salons.

🥂 TWO YEARS!! 🥂

Today marks two beautiful years since Dramatic Paws opened the big door and welcomed the first dogs in.

In that time, I've grown and learned, bonded and worked with some of the most incredible and dedicated clients I could ever ask for. It will forever be a privilege to have the community trust and support Dramatic Paws.

When I first opened, I began to carefully curated a client list that paired my unique abilities and talents with clients and pups that needed a little bit more from their grooming experience. A little more support, softness, patience, compassion and understanding that sometimes things can be scary, but that in my space, we will always be safe.

Thank you to all of the clients and pups who book, re-book, and show up through the insanity that life dishes out. Every single time I stand at the gate and watch you walk your dogs up, I am filled with pride and gratitude. Thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful two years! 🥰

Sometimes life gets away from us.

This absolutely hilarious little guy found himself without a groomer for a while, and things got out of hand before his very loving family gave me a call. We spent a lazy Thursday morning getting him comfortable (and doing a lot of post-bath zoomies and play!) A job like this takes time, care, and a unique set of skills to make sure the dog is safe and comfortable while we work together to get the job done.

It happens (even in the most amazing families) and people can find themselves stuck in situations where they might be worried about getting help. They may see posts online of groomers saying some unkind things, or making comments that just aren't helpful, and it can be really discouraging. I'm so glad his family trusted me enough to allow me the pleasure of spending time with him - he's actually the funniest!

I hope my clients always feel comfortable asking for help, knowing they're walking into a space where they will be supported and given the time and care they need to start fresh 🥰

✨ A HUGE THANK YOU ✨

What an absolutely wonderful year with my Dramatic Paws pups!

Thank you to everyone who has booked in, trusted me with their best friends, supported me and encouraged me. 2025 was my first *full* calendar year in business, and it has exceeded ALL of my expectations. Every little update message, "Merry Christmas", box of sneaky choccies, little sip of w**e, Google review, and rebook has truly reminded me of how privileged I am to be able to work with all of you.

2026 is going to come with a few changes. Increased availability, flexibility, and appointment options; including a few very coveted spots open for brand new small and medium breed clients.

We are closed for some minor renos (and a much needed break), and I'll be back in the salon on January 5th. If you are a regular who hasn't booked in for 2026, you will receive a New Year's reminder message.
