Rumba really wanted to go out for a walk today so I let him out at lunch after I put his booties on but he wanted some company to walk back home for dinner, he lost a boot so had to collect it on the way back 😅

This is why i love having quiet ponies 🤣🥰
Rumba got a nice bath yesterday and some pampering, looking more like a pony and less like a gremlin 🤣

Hm to ride Tena again this year or go back to carriage 🤔
I’d like to do both but I dont think i have the energy to give him the time to get his fitness up to do both at one event and i dont think I have the energy to do both either 🫠
Im only going to a very few select shows so wanna make the most out of the pain it causes me but also make it easy on myself too.
He’s such a good boy and I wanna show him off but im so tired & so sore 😭
Such hard choices.🫠

So lets look at pros and cons of both 🤔

• Carriage •
Cons:
~ lots of re training needed, been 3yrs since he was in a carriage
~ a lot more cleaning and prep involved for shows
Pros:
~ more comfortable with less body movements = less pain while competing for me
~ more classes at shows

• Riding •
Cons:
~ more body movements = more pain while competing for me
~ a lot less classes at shows
Pros:
~ less training needed to get started again, only been a few months since last ridden
~ less cleaning and prep involved for show

*cries in grey horse owner* 😭 but at least we got good rain 🫠

Got to go meet the newest little bub at Glendon Camp Grounds, little filly Coco just born this morning. Goldie rung me up worried something was wrong, no vets available to come out so I zoomed out after work to check on mum and bub. I spent some hours there checking the placenta over and watching them, making sure bub drank, pooped and slept. Once she kicked the important milestones and mum had a big sleep, i was happy they were going to be fine. She is so tiny with one blue eye, 4 white legs, one white splotch on her back but majority black coat. It was good to check on the last filly, Harvana, I came out to check her too when she was born only 8 weeks ago, she’s entirely black like their daddy.

Rumba’s favourite, watermelon 🍉 Tena isn’t too sure though, he’s more of a banana boy 🍌

As we end the day and another year with the boys having their annual vaccines and worming ready for the new year. We look back at the year the boys had.
❤️Rumba went out early with founder, it has been a slow recovery for him waiting for his feet to grow and recover but with the correct trimming and plenty of rest, he is back on the right track now.
💜Tena has had a great year doing his first ridden events, lots of champion and supremes for him. I put his up for stud for the first time but no bites this year, maybe next year we will have more luck. He has really looked after me while my health continues too decline. I might not be able to give him the training he really needs to continue to improve his skills but at least he just goes out there and does his best.
😮‍💨The new year does not bring new goals unfortunately, Im going to be having a quieter year while my health is getting worse. We are only going to attend a few select shows so i’ll be looking at my previous shows and results to pick where it is worth going to.
💗There is a few people I need to thank for their help and support with my health issues, I won’t name them incase they wish to stay anonymous but a huge Thank you to you 🫶🏼 It is very much appreciated to have you check up on me and help.
💕Always have to thank my parents for being the best ever people in existence, doing their best to support me while its such hard times💕
🧡I also need to thank Redmond's Pet & Livestock Supplies for their fantastic supplies and feed keeping the boys in their best condition 🧡
