With a rainbow perfectly framing the trailer, it felt like a fitting backdrop for a truck carrying such an important, simple message:

🐔 MYTH MONDAY 🐔
Should I use worming feed all the time to prevent poultry worms?

❌ MYTH: If I use worming feed all year round, my chickens won't ever get worms.

✅ FACT: Worming feeds are carefully formulated to ensure your birds receive the correct dose of wormer. That's why they're designed to:
✔️ Be fed for a set treatment period, not all year round.
✔️ Be your birds' main feed during the treatment period.

If worming feed is mixed with regular feed, your birds may not receive enough wormer for the treatment to work properly. Likewise, using worming feed 24/7 may contribute to worms becoming resistant.

For the best results:
✔️ Feed the worming ration as your birds' only feed for the recommended treatment period.
✔️ Follow the directions on the bag, including how much to feed and for how long.
✔️ Once treatment is complete, return your birds to their normal feed until their next scheduled worming treatment.

Worms aren't always easy to spot. Changes such as fewer or smaller eggs, pale yolks or poor shell quality can all be signs your birds may have a worm burden.

🐾 Feel(ine) Good Friday at the Big Red Shed🐾

Meet Silvia, our unofficial (but very important) mascot at Capricorn Stockfeeds.

She’s actually the neighbour’s cat, but most days she tends to drift in to the Big Red Shed. You’ll find her curled up on top of the hay, supervising operations from a safe distance and ensuring everything is running purrrrfectly.

If you’re down at the front loading bay, keep an eye out - there’s a good chance you’ll spot her watching proceedings like she’s in charge of the place.

We make sure she’s got fresh water topped up each day, and she seems to have developed a strong appreciation for the place… especially around feed time.

Let’s just say she’s never short of a “free sample” here and there 😄

At Capricorn Stockfeeds, we produce Bill’s 'Super Chaff' on our in-house chaff cutter using only the best locally sourced lucerne. This gives us control over the quality, consistency, weight, and freshness from start to finish.

I managed to grab this shot while Bill was giving Keith a few pointers on sharpening the blades the other day… before they noticed me!

Dog Food-our quality dog food starts at prices way way less than Woolies and our top shelf is still cheaper for the same product than the major specialty pet food shops! Woolies start at $45 but that's only a 15kg bag - that’s equates to $60 for 20kg and that’s around 25% dearer than our equivalent!
