If your dog comes into the salon severely matted, the kindest and safest option is often a short shave.

Matting is not just a “hair issue” — it pulls tightly on the skin, causes pain, restricts movement, and can hide serious issues underneath. Trying to brush or de-mat a heavily matted coat is not humane and can cause significant discomfort and stress to your dog.

At Dogs R Us Grooming, we have one priority:
👉 Your dog’s welfare. Always.

We will never take more coat off than necessary, but we will always choose what is safe, kind, and humane over what is purely aesthetic.

If a short groom is not what you want, the responsibility falls back to regular home maintenance and consistent grooming schedules to prevent matting from occurring in the first place.

We are here to help, guide, and support you — but we will not compromise a dog’s wellbeing for appearance.

We’ll now be closed on Mondays instead of Tuesdays 🐶✂️

After a lot of thought, we believe having two days off in a row will help us rest, recharge, and continue giving your fur babies the best care possible 💛

If you currently have a Monday booking, you’ll start to see these shift over to Tuesdays. We’ll be in touch where needed, but please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns or scheduling issues.
