TFS recently held a Field Day at Twynam near Marulan, focusing on a some specific pieces of ag-tech and how they're helping producers make better decisions.

Our sheep Optiweigh arrived in Taralga last week to assist with the demonstration of a precision feeding approach for twin bearing ewes. We’ll use the Optiweigh to monitor mob performance and ewe condition and adjust feed accordingly. This is part of a joint project with farming systems groups in NSW and VIC, supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program under the Natural Heritage Trust.

Delta Agribusiness, with TFS in tow, visited the trial sites today to complete establishment counts as part of our Grains Research and Development Corporation funded faba bean trial. After a bit of rain early in the week, both the fabas and vetch were looking great. A positive start to the trial!

Join Tablelands Farming Systems, with South East Local Land Services, at Merrill, Gunning for a practical morning on-farm, focused on the decision making heading into winter. The day will include:
🔎 Reflections and lessons learnt from last year at Merrill, particularly surrounding the broadcasting of corn
🌦 Seasonal outlook presentation
🌾 A paddock walk to assess current feed on offer and pasture condition, as well as a visit to the farm's containment lots
🐑 A local vet update on key animal health risks this winter, including phalaris staggers.
