Happy first day of spring! 🌸☀️

The sun is shining, the days are getting longer, and spring walkies season is officially here!

While we welcome the warmer weather, here are three quick things to keep in mind for our fur babies this season:

🌸 Pollen and Allergies: Just like us, pets get seasonal allergies! Watch for extra paw licking or itchy skin after walks, and wipe their paws when you get inside.
🌾 Grass Seeds: Long spring grass loves to catch in fur, ears, and between toe pads. A quick post walk brush down works wonders.
☀️ Warming Paws: Days are warming up quickly! Get those walkies done during the crisp morning or cooler afternoon hours.

Nothing heals a brutal post-travel sickness quite like pet medicine and if you turn the sound up, you not only get Ahsoka's adorable little purr-chirps but you can also get the added bonus of hearing me wheezing for my life in the background 😂😂😂

After catching a nasty bug on my last day in Queenstown and BARELY surviving the nightmare journey home, Ahsoka immediately clocked that I was VERY unwell so she locked and loaded into nurse mode and hasn't left my side. Animals just have a fifth sense for when you need extra love, even if your personal nurse spends her entire shift snoozing through your nasal whistle solos 🌬️🌬️🌬️

Ever wondered who looks after the pet sitter's pets when they go away? 🐱🐱

​I am off to Queenstown tomorrow, which means Ahsoka needed her own 5-star holiday plan! She is packing her favourite blanket as we speak and heading straight over to her best friend Kitsune's house for the ultimate cat and dog sleepover.

​Honestly, knowing she is with her favourite buddy getting pampered at Kitsune's place gives me complete peace of mind while I am away.

Pacific Airshow : How to Keep Your Pets Calm This Weekend ✈️🐶🐱

If you live around Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Main Beach, or surrounding Gold Coast suburbs, you know the Pacific Airshow brings incredible sights and very loud jet engines overhead!

While it is an exciting weekend on the coast, low flying aircraft and sonic rumbles can be overwhelming and stressful for our dogs, cats, and small pets.

Here are 5 simple ways to keep your babies calm, safe, and comfortable while the jets are roaring:

1. Create an Indoor Safe Zone
Keep windows, doors, and balcony access firmly closed to block out as much roar as possible.

Close curtains or blinds to block sudden shadows and visual flashes from passing planes.

Set up a cosy nest in an interior room (like a hallway or bedroom) with their favourite bed, blankets, and a piece of your worn clothing for a familiar scent.

2. Mask the Noise with Sound Buffers
Turn on the TV, play relaxing lofi beats, or turn on a fan to create steady ambient background noise.

White noise machines or classical playlists work wonders to soften the sharp, sudden sound of jet engines.

3. Time Walks and Meals Strategically
Get early morning walks out of the way before the flying displays begin each day.

Ensure dogs are exercised and tired so they are naturally more relaxed indoors.

Avoid having dogs off leash outdoors during show hours because startled pets can bolt quickly if frightened by unexpected noise.

4. Double Check Microchips and ID Tags
Make sure collar tags are secure and microchip details are up to date in case an anxious pet manages to slip out of a door or gate.

5. Lick Mats and Distraction Toys
The physical act of licking releases endorphins that naturally soothe a pet's nervous system.

Prepare a frozen KONG stuffed with peanut butter or a slow feeder lick mat to keep their mind occupied during peak flyover times.

✨REHOMING✨ Update: Rehomed ❤️

We have made the incredibly difficult decision to rehome our beautiful Golden Retriever boy, Prince. 🤍
This is a decision that has not been made lightly, and we are absolutely heartbroken. We love Prince dearly, but we also know that sometimes loving a dog means putting their happiness and needs first.
Prince will be 3 years old in September. He is the most gentle, loving and caring soul, with such a beautiful nature. He absolutely loves his people, going on big walks, exploring and having plenty of space to run around and burn off his energy.
Since welcoming our baby, life has changed so much, and unfortunately we have struggled to give Prince the time, exercise and attention that his energetic personality needs. We want to find him a home where he can truly thrive and get everything he deserves.
We would ideally love to find a small family or couple with a large backyard, acreage or property, where he has plenty of room to run and someone who can give him the time and companionship he needs.
Most importantly, we are looking for a loving, safe and forever home for our boy. Someone who will love him, care for him and treat him as part of the family. 🤍
We have unfortunately lost contact with Prince's breeder, so we are unable to rehome him through them and are hoping to find the right person through our own network.
Please, if you or someone you know may be the perfect home for Prince, please comment below about yourself. We want to take our time and make sure we find the right fit for him.
This is incredibly hard for us, but we know that finding Prince the home where he can be his happiest is the most loving thing we can do for him. 🐾🤍

Everybody please say hello to Floquinho! 🐾😍

​This 3-month-old little adventurer joined me for a last-minute, same-day booking when his mum had an unexpected emergency, and he proved that big personalities come in tiny packages!

​Because he’s still waiting on his full vaccinations, we had a safety-first adventure with zero doggy greetings, keeping distance while exploring. He was a little unsure about passing strangers at first, but his curiosity and endless stamina quickly took over.

​Don't let those short legs fool you... we crushed 10,000 steps today, and he was ready for 10,000 more! 💪🐕

​Whether it's a planned routine or an urgent, last-minute call, your pups are always in safe, loving hands. Welcome to the KPC family, Floquinho!
