I’ve seen dogs nearly die from jumping through glass or escaping and getting lost. It’s easily preventable as a puppy, make sure you do it
It shouldn’t always be go go go, and they don’t always need enrichment (just like kids don’t always need iPads), sometimes, your dog just needs to be ok with doing nothing
They’re going to run into some unfriendly ones eventually and it’s just setting them up to be frustrated
One of the most common issues we see is human aggression and reactivity, and dogs that aren’t able to be handled at the vets or groomers. It’s costly to manage and to fix, so you better socialise your dog to people and specially these contexts
You need to expose your dog to the life you plan on living with them. They need to learn to cope with new environments, how to make friends and that humans are safe
If your dog thinks they’re going to die when you leave the room/home or even just can’t cope with it because you’ve shown them constant affection, neither of you are going to enjoy your life together. Teach them how to be alone through controlled and gradual exposure
If you can master this, you’ve got one very fulfilled and engaged dog on your hands
Most dogs struggle with this because they’re wired to work and our lifestyle doesn’t help. Through crate training, tethering, parking, mat training, self enrichment, your dog needs to learn to turn off
Literally 50+ reasons why you should be doing this and 99% of them are common sense, shouldn’t need to be explained anymore

freedom = fulfilment
Fulfilment = happiness
