On Saturday, the 5th of September, we lost our beautiful Duchess.

Just a few days after giving birth to her beautiful babies, Duchess became septic and went into shock after suffering a ruptured uterus. She was at AES receiving treatment and we fought so hard for her, hoping that she would come home to us.

But sadly, life had other plans. 💔

Duchess wasn’t just a breeding dog. She was a huge part of our family. She was loved, cherished and adored by all of us, and the house already feels so different without her.

She had the funniest little quirks that made her Duchess. She loved to talk to us, and those little noises and moments that we sometimes took for granted are now so painfully quiet. Those are the things I know we will miss the most.

Duchess fulfilled my journey of breeding in a way I will forever be grateful for. She gave us beautiful puppies, beautiful memories and a legacy that will continue long after she is gone.

Her legacy will live on in our hearts and through every puppy she produced. ❤️

If you were lucky enough to have one of Duchess’s puppies, you will know exactly what I mean when I talk about her quirks. You have a little piece of her with you, and I hope you cherish it forever.

We were incredibly lucky to keep Malibu from her last litter. She is now with an amazing family who love her just as much as we loved Duchess, and knowing that a piece of Duchess is living on in such a loving home brings me some comfort.

And now, Duchess has left us with 7 beautiful babies. 🤍
I am so incredibly grateful to the friends who have stepped in during this heartbreaking time and taken on the responsibility of tube feeding her babies, making sure they receive the care and nourishment they need to get the best possible start in life.

For now, I need to take some time to grieve my beautiful girl.

Duchess, you were so much more than a mum. You were family. You were loved. You were cherished. And you will never be forgotten.

Thank you for everything you gave us, my beautiful girl.

Our beautiful Lumi 💛

Lumi is our gorgeous shaded cream girl from Remi × Prince, and watching her mature has been so rewarding. She’s now lost almost all of her puppy shading, and her stunning cream coat is really shining through.

Not only is she beautiful, but her personality is everything we hoped for. Lumi is incredibly outgoing, confident, and loves being involved in everything. She is truly a miniature version of her mum, Remi, and seeing those same wonderful traits come through in the next generation is so special.

We can’t wait to watch this gorgeous girl continue to grow and see what the future holds for her here at Perri Paws Miniature Dachshunds. 💜🐾

Kirra now Clover was our last puppy to leave the nest 🌸 Her mum was moving states but knew Clover was the one, so she stayed with us while they made the big move.

That meant plenty of extra cuddles, kisses, and spoiled moments before she headed off to her forever home 🐾💗

We said goodbye to Capri the other week and what an adventure she’s already had! Our little girl boarded her flight all the way to Cairns to begin the next chapter of her life. 🤍✈️

Capri is now known as Kensington Cowgirl, “Kenz” for short 🤎
She has been placed in a loving breeding home and we are so excited to watch her develop, mature, and flourish into a beautiful girl.

His new mum travelled all the way through the rain just to meet him and completely fell in love — honestly, how could you not though?

Ruby was something truly special to us — our very first cream brindle long haired girl. We had hoped to keep her as part of our program, but unfortunately her DNA results meant she wasn’t suited for our future plans.

We were so happy to secure Ruby the most beautiful pet home on acreage with her new mum, where she’ll have endless room for adventures and plenty of mischief to get up to 🤎

We wish you the very best, sweet Ruby, and can’t wait to watch you grow 🌿✨
