Toad season is here — and the best time to train is before your dog has a close call. 🐸

Our Cane Toad Avoidance program is simple: a suitability assessment to make sure it’s right for your dog, individually designed sessions, then follow-up at 24 hours, 30 days and 3 months so the avoidance sticks. Suitable for dogs 16 weeks and older, all breeds.

You walk away with a dog that steers clear of toads on its own — whether you’re watching or not. Swipe 👉

📅 Spots for the season are limited. Book a suitability assessment today.

Here’s the part most owners don’t realise: your dog can learn to avoid cane toads. 🐸

Our Cane Toad Recognition & Avoidance Training teaches dogs to identify a toad and choose to walk away — using welfare-first methods. It’s not a one-off scare. Every program is individually designed after a suitability assessment, with follow-up at 24 hours, 30 days and 3 months.

It’s ethically approved (DPI Animal Ethics Committee), built and designed with veterinarian collaboration — so you can trust how your dog is being trained. Swipe 👉

Proud to have Councillor Joe Wilkinson helping spread the word this toad season. 🐸🐾

Thank you Joe Wilkinson for visiting us in Parkwood and sharing our Cane Toad Avoidance program with the community. It means a lot to have local council backing safer dogs on the Gold Coast.

As Joe pointed out, the City of Gold Coast also funds Watergum’s Cane Toad Challenge — helping residents safely manage toads while protecting native wildlife. Reducing preventable toad encounters is a win for pets and the local ecosystem alike Watergum

Your dog’s biggest cane toad risk isn’t on a walk — it’s in your own backyard. 🐸
Toads come out after dark and after rain, right when we let the dogs out before bed. Curious dogs and high-prey-drive breeds are the most likely to investigate — and most encounters happen at home, just metres from the back door.
Fences won’t keep them out. But you can teach your dog to recognise a toad and walk away on its own. Swipe 👉

Gold Coast dog owners — this one’s worth 10 seconds. 🐸

Cane toads are back in our backyards for the warm, wet season. Most dogs meet one when their owner is just metres away — and curious dogs can’t tell the difference between a toad and a toy.

The good news? You can teach your dog to recognise and avoid them.

Swipe through 👉 for the warning signs every owner should know — and what to do if your dog gets too close.

Save this and tag a mate with a dog. 🐾
