Groundwork lessons 🐴 both horse and rider should have established groundwork skills to produce a harmonious partnership.

The basics start from the ground - this is also where most problems can be fixed. Loading issues, trouble catching or tacking up your horse, difficulty under saddle - maybe transitions, standing for mounting, picking up canter leads or not having brakes. Groundwork is often a critical tool in correcting these things.

Magic Pines offer groundwork lessons with your horse or with ours. We have a range of horses for you to learn with - well established and green, sensitive, reactive or quiet. Sharpen your groundwork tools and have confidence when working on your foundation.

Gypsie 🤍

We were very happy to welcome Gypsie to Magic Pines for training recently. This sweet girl lost one eye and was working on rebuilding her confidence on the ground and in her float training whilst adapting to her change in vision.

Beautiful client horse Lexi 🩷🤍

We are so grateful to Lexi's family for choosing Magic Pines to give her a boot camp for the past 2.5 weeks.

Little Lex has come such a long way in such a short time, focusing on groundwork to get suppleness and lots of positive reinforcement under saddle.

We are looking forward to keeping up with Lexi, in such a short time she has become a favourite around here!

✨️ Student Spotlight ✨️

Dylan kicked off his riding journey with Magic Pines in 2025, and look at him now! He has formed such an incredible bond with our lovely heritage stock horse gelding, River, who was broken in by us and now helps beginner riders learn the ropes of kind, gentle riding with a focus on learning the basics of how horses learn and how we can use that to make ourselves the best riders we can be for our four-legged companions 🤍

Dylan has been working hard on developing his balance to enable him to have soft, steady hands and a quiet seat. We are so proud of his progress in 2025 and can't wait to watch him develop as a rider and horseman with his best friend, River 🥰

As 2025 comes to an end we wanted to take a moment to thank all of our beautiful clients for such an incredible year 🤍 we have been lucky enough to have an influx of new clients and horses this year and we are just SO grateful!

To those of you who joined us in 2025, and to those who have come back for another year of Magic ✨️ we couldn't do it without you and we truly feel like our client base are our family. So thank YOU for choosing us, and for putting your horses first.

We are so happy you chose to work with your horses in 2025 and we can't wait to continue the journey with you all in 2026!!

Kolkata 🩶🤍

We have had the privilege of working with the lovely Cali for the past seven weeks, building her foundations after life on the track and helping her find her new home.

Cali has been nothing but a pleasure and one of the sweetest, most fun mounts to ride and train. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to give her the basics to carry her through the rest of her life.

I am very happy to say she has found the most lovely home with a very talented young rider and I can't wait to see how they progress together 🥰

A big thank you to Cali's family for trusting us not only to educate her but to match her with her perfect new home 🤍🩶

Magic Pines Equestrian presents "Kolkata"

Cali is a 5yo, 15.3hh TB mare by Divine Prophet with Redoute's Choice lines. Cali had one start and retired sound as she was too slow.

Cali is an absolute sweetheart who just wants to be fussed over. She will follow you around in the paddock and rest her head on your shoulder for some loving. She is now on the lookout for her very own best friend.

Since coming off the track, Cali has had extensive groundwork and is great to catch, wash, trim and float. Now schooling prelim level dressage with three even paces and looks and presence to die for. Cali has no bad habits or nasty behaviours, and gives her riders a very safe feeling. Whilst I feel she would excel in the show ring or dressage arena, Cali has also proven herself to be careful with her feet and brave, with the ability to become a wonderful all-rounder.

For sale due to no fault of her own and will happily stay if we don't find her absolute perfect match.

🖤 Allusion of Ebony Park 🖤

Beautiful client horse 'Luna' who came in for training to bring her back into work and develop her dressage education after several years out of work. We had the privilege of training Luna when she was 4 years old and we're very happy to welcome her back this time around.

Plenty of groundwork ensuring she was mentally and physically ready to come back into work, then lots of consistency, relationship building and more groundwork to get her soft and supple under saddle. Luna's owner came out to have some lessons with her and get some homework of things to practice together.

Luna went home last weekend after a fantastic few weeks with Magic Pines. As always, a massive thank you to Luna's family for trusting us with her training 🤍

Officially welcoming our newest Ambassador Chloe Hall 🤍 we are so excited to watch our team grow with the most amazing people and horses!

Chloe has trusted Magic Pines with the training of two of her horses and been training with us for several years now. One of those horses was one of the very first produced by Magic Pines and we could not have hoped for a better lifetime partner for him, so thank you Chloe for loving Cards the way you did 💕

We chose Chloe to be part of the Magic Pines team because we love the way she always puts her horses first. Over the years we've seen Chloe do this by ensuring her horses are fit enough before taking them out to competitions, always making sure they look a million dollars being shiny and well fed, prioritising training with consistency and avoiding shortcuts with spurs and tie-downs, and especially for ensuring her horses are cared for in their retirement.

Chloe is always the first to offer a hand or come down to cheer on other riders, and we so love her encouraging attitude. Make sure to say hello to Chloe and welcome her on board as an official member of the team next time you see her!
