Pedi time.

So the 3 stooges got a pedicure today. Mrs Squeakums completely self loads and doesn't even require a lead.
RONNY is learning but doing extremely well..walks on lead now and tolerates the tiny farriering.
And Miss Molly is somewhere in between...all in all 3 is easier than 22.

Gratitude post. To the lovely Ainslea.
Not so much goat related but our rescue dog Miss Beth Dutton had recently destroyed her new fluffy bed. This was due to it not fitting both rescues together. They are heavily bonded and must be touching.
So off market I got her a propper bed for the two girls. With all my chatter about dogs and goats I for to pay. I was horrified. I messaged the wonderful young woman to send the $$ and she gifted it to Beth. So a huge thank you.

URINARY TRACT HEALTH
Brinell Pygmies welcomes Ronny to his new forever home. Poor Ronny lost his brother to UC. Urinary Calculai. This condition affects boys. Often its a combination of being banded early and his little tract hasn't had time to mature. And then have too rich a food such as pellets. Slowly stones develop and block the urethra. This is an extremely painful condition and if not cought early can result in a horrible death. Normally its a rush to the vet to 'snip the pizzle'.
Lucky for Ronny his beautiful owners contacted me as he was alone and we noted the early signs.
Things to look for.
1. Reduced stream flow.
It becomes more of a dribble than a stream.
2. Blood in urine
3 hunching over in the back end.
4. Isolation. Head down. Possibly calling out.
Things to do.
Always provide apple c***r vinegar in your animals water..all of them. This does not stop UC but it does promote healthy strong blood and Urinary health.
Provide low phosphorus feed.
Bland diet for boys. Go easy on grain and pellets unless its specific to males.
Ammonium chloride if you confirm UC.
Vets if your not sure and please make sure its a vet experienced with ruminant animals.
Always watch your animals pee...it tells you alot.
We love our animals and do the absolute best we can..by learning a bit more it helps save our babies and prevents the ultimate sadness of loss and the expense on top.
Ronny is doing well and we absolutely love him. Hes come from the most loving home and will live his best forever life here..
I do hope this helps other owners.
