An important reminder about our current appointment availability 🐾

There is currently a significant shortage of veterinary staff, which means we have limited appointments available for routine visits. We’re doing everything we can to accommodate as many patients as possible, but unfortunately, we can’t always offer appointments as quickly as we normally would.

Emergencies will always be prioritised which can also mean appointments run behind and wait times are longer than expected.

We completely understand that this can be frustrating, but we kindly ask for patience and, most importantly, kindness towards our staff.

Our vets, nurses and support team are working incredibly hard, often missing lunch breaks and pushing through long, busy days to care for your pets. We are doing our absolute best with the resources we currently have.

Recently, we’ve experienced an increase in abusive behaviour towards our staff when we’re unable to accommodate appointments or when there are delays. We understand your frustration but abuse is never okay.

Please remember that our team genuinely cares about your pets and is doing everything they can to help.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and kindness while we navigate this challenging time ❤️

This gorgeous Sphynx kitten "Neytiri" stole plenty of hearts during their visit to the clinic. Curious, cuddly, and full of character, they certainly know how to make an impression! 🩷

🐍 Cold weather doesn't mean snake bites stop!

We're still seeing snake bite cases at the clinic, even through the cooler months. Snakes can remain active on warmer winter days, so please stay vigilant when out walking or working outdoors.

Here is Skeeter feeling much better after being bitten last week!

If you suspect your pet has been bitten, seek veterinary care immediately. Early treatment can make all the difference. 💚🐾

🦜 H5 Bird Flu (Avian Influenza): What Should You Do If You Find a Sick or Dead Bird?

Queensland has increased surveillance for H5 avian influenza (bird flu), and everyone can play a part in protecting our wildlife, poultry and pets.

If you find a sick or dead wild bird:

🚫 Do not touch or handle the bird.
🐾 Keep children and pets well away from the bird and the surrounding area.
📸 If it's safe, take a photo and note the location.
📞 Report it immediately to:
• Biosecurity Queensland – 13 25 23 (business hours)
• Emergency Animal Disease Hotline – 1800 675 888 (24 hours)

If your dog or cat has had contact with a sick or dead bird:
🐶🐱 Contact your regular Vet for advice. While the risk to pets remains low, it's important to assess any potential exposure with your veterinarian.

For backyard poultry owners:
If you notice sudden illness, multiple sick birds or unexpected deaths in your flock, report it immediately to Biosecurity Queensland or the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline. Early reporting is essential to help protect Queensland's poultry industry and native wildlife.

This handsome boy, Winston has been visiting us since he was a puppy and, despite giving us a few heart-stopping moments over the years, he continues to show he's tougher than he looks and proof that British Bulldogs run on determination, snacks, and pure stubbornness.
