🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK - STELLA 🐾

Now that the excitement of the Mt Larcom Show (and all those adorable puppies 😍) is behind us, we'd like to shine the spotlight back on a dog who's been patiently waiting a little longer.

Stella. 💛

If you've been following her journey, you'll know she's currently thriving in foster care and showing us a completely different side of herself than we saw in the shelter.

She's affectionate, gentle with children, loves a game of fetch, knows how to sit and shake, and is doing a fantastic job learning to wait patiently.

Most importantly, she's shown us what a difference a home environment can make.

Whoever adopts her is getting a pretty special dog. 🥰

Come and see us in the Animal Pavillion and meet some of our beautiful puppies and kittens.
We have a raffle running so buy some tickets to be in the chance to win two gorgeous Queen size quilts, meat voucher from Kin Kora meats, a Bunnings voucher or a Coles voucher.

The volunteers are getting organised.

The brochures are packed.

The puppy cuddles are ready.

And we'll be bringing some very cute faces along with us. 😄

If you're heading to the show this weekend, make sure you stop by the GARG stall and say hello.

🐾 We'll be there on Saturday until 3:30pm, so come and meet the team, learn about fostering and volunteering, and say hello to some of our adoptable animals. 💛

🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK - STELLA 🐾

A few months ago, we described Stella as a dog who wanted to be part of everything.

Turns out we were right. 💛

Since moving into foster care, Stella has shown a completely different side of herself. Away from the shelter environment, she's settled beautifully and has become a sweet, playful girl who is genuinely a joy to be around.

She knows how to sit and shake, is doing a great job learning to wait patiently, comes when called, and rarely barks.

She's gentle with children, loves a game of fetch, and is never far away if there's a ball or rope toy involved.

What we love most about Stella's foster update is that it reminds people that shelter behaviour isn't always home behaviour. Sometimes dogs just need the chance to decompress, feel safe, and show us who they really are.

And Stella has been doing exactly that. 🥰

🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK - GIBSON 🐾

If you're looking for a dog who's ready for life, Gibson is your guy.

This handsome Kelpie X is full of energy, full of personality, and full of opinions about kennel life 😅

Gibson loves getting out for walks, exploring, learning new things, and spending time with people. He's a smart young dog who thrives when he has something to do and someone to do it with.

Like a lot of working-breed dogs, Gibson is happiest when he's part of the action rather than watching it from behind kennel bars.

He's affectionate, enthusiastic, and always ready to make the most of an adventure - whether that's a walk around the block, a trip to the beach, or simply rolling around in the grass having the time of his life.

🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK - GIBSON 🐾

If you’ve ever met a young Kelpie… you already know Gibson has approximately 47 emotions and all of them happen at once 😅💛

This boy is smart, energetic, ridiculously affectionate, and absolutely loves being around people. He’s the kind of dog that throws himself fully into life - walks, pats, adventures, zoomies, dramatic grass rolls… Gibson is here for all of it.

He’s strong on lead, full of personality, and honestly never too thrilled about heading back to the kennel afterwards (can’t really blame him). What he really wants is a home where he gets exercise, stimulation, and gets to be part of someone’s world instead of watching it from behind kennel gates.

Under all that Kelpie energy is just a very loving boy wanting connection and a chance.
