This is devastating!
We need more options!
The rest of the world had at least one new option as they copped the re-infestations.
Australia needs something and there are some new ones being produced.

We cannot wait for "survival of the fittest".
It'll be years before those that survive will reach our apiaries and will they be calm? Doubt it! Defensive ferals may hold the key for long-term survival but that trait is what has been bred out over hundreds of years.

Beekeepers may support our hives as best we can but even a strong colony who may be able to survive one influx of Varroa, will succumb to the bombardment of Varroa entering the hive wave after wave.
Good genetics will be lost!

Govt needs to review new options immediately!

Back in the local paper as "SUPER MITES" have been found in North East Victoria

We need to bring attention to beekeepers who may not be keeping up with State govt notifications or the mainstream news sites.
