Don't make excuses for your dog.

He's a rescue...

She loves people...

He loves balls, he wants your dog to chase him...

I've had a total knee replacement - 8.5 weeks post op.

A 16 month old adolescent dog came charging over to the darling husband and I.

Jumped on my John and scratched the back of his leg 🤬 then decided to try me.

Normally I'm pretty neutral and move on, but I don't want to be jumped on at the moment...

Apart from puppy class - which starts on Sunday, September 13 at 9am - I'm not back to training yet because I'm still healing!

Stop making excuses for your dog's behaviour people!

If your dog is off lead they should be under 100% verbal control.

If they aren't - do the training!

Off lead dog parks.

Here's the thing...

Almost everyone goes there so their dog can run around and 'play' with other dogs.

In doing this, their dog now becomes hyper aroused and charges into the park and proceeds to 'play'.

The problem now is the owner is of absolutely no value to the dog at all.

It has now become an expectation... Dog park = hyper, play with other dogs and ignoring owner.

Recall - nup 🙄

Don't be that person.

It is not necessary for your dog to play with every dog or person they see.

Layer up the foundation. Form the bonds of communication and engagement.

Train your dog.
