A big team effort this weekend 🩺🐾

Late Friday night, we had two emergency patients come through our doors, and our team didn’t hesitate to jump into action. ❤️

A huge shoutout to Ryan, Gabby, Izzy and Tiff, who came together on Saturday morning to perform emergency surgeries on both patients, going above and beyond to give them the care they needed.

We’re so happy to share that both patients are recovering really well! 🐶🐾

This is what teamwork, dedication and a genuine love for what we do, looks like. We’re so proud of our team and grateful to have people who show up for our patients when it matters most. 🤍

Today we’re celebrating our amazing vet nurses and all the love, care and dedication they bring to the clinic every single day!

From the cuddles, treats and wagging tails to the messy moments, long days and patients who need a little extra love, our nurses are there through it all. They’re the extra hands, the comforting voices, the patient advocates and the people who go above and beyond to make sure every animal gets the care they deserve. 🐶🐱

It’s not always an easy job, but it’s one filled with so much love, and we’re so lucky to have such an incredible nursing team at Five Dock Vet. 💗

A huge thank you to our nurses for everything you do for our patients, their families and each other. You make a difference every single day, and today we’re celebrating YOU! 🥹🐾

🐾 ARE YOUR PET’S FLEA & TICK PREVENTION UP TO DATE? 🐾

🌸 Tick season is approaching! As the weather warms up, flea and tick activity increases, making now the perfect time to check that your pet’s parasite prevention is up to date.

🐞 Ticks can be life-threatening. Paralysis ticks can cause serious illness and can progress quickly, even in pets that spend most of their time at home or in the backyard.

🐜 Fleas can also cause more than just itching. They can lead to flea allergy dermatitis, skin irritation and can transmit parasites such as tapeworm.

✅ Check when your pet’s last dose was given
✅ Make sure their next dose is due on time
✅ Choose prevention appropriate for your pet’s species, weight and lifestyle
✅ Check your pet regularly for ticks, especially after being outdoors
✅ Keep your household and other pets protected too!

💚 Prevention is always better than treatment. If you’re unsure whether your pet’s parasite prevention is still up to date, give us a call or chat to our veterinary team — we’re happy to help you find the right option for your pet.

📅 Don’t wait until tick season is in full swing — get ahead of it now! 🐶🐱
