Some happy snaps of our girl, Bella, the Dutch Shepherd, out on an adventure earlier this week.

We adopted Bella from Shoalhaven Animal Shelter in 2018 and she’s been living her best life with us ever since.

Her favourite things to do are explore down by the creek, hang out with Beth, and run beside the motorbike when daycare has closed and all of the boarding dogs have gone to bed.

Bella isn’t much of a socialite, so you might not have seen her around. Sometimes you’ll see her romping around solo in daycare whilst it’s closed on weekends 🐾

ADVENTURE BUS WRAP UP 🚌✨

Even though it was blowing a gale, we had the BEST couple of days! We went to a destination protected from the strong winds and didn’t it pay off! This week we took our adventurers to Wowly Creek in Callala Bay.

The pooches had so much room to play, run, swim, dog and sniff. Of course getting all the treats and cuddles!

It’s Xenas Birthday!!!🩷

Today we celebrated Xena’s 6th birthday! 🐾🎉
She had a wonderful day playing with her furry friends, enjoying lots of cuddles, treats and birthday fun!

Xena most definitely had a Paw-some birthday🤭🧡

Remember Hank? Well, after FOUR whole years of waiting, dreaming, and being the best boy, Hank has finally found his forever home! 🎉❤️

And not just any home... Hank has gone home with our very own Maddy! 🥰

These days, Hank is living the life he always deserved, surrounded by cozy blankets, comfy lounges, and human beds! He also has two husky best friends to share his adventures with!

Of course, Hank still likes to pop into daycare... only when he's brave enough to leave the comfort of his bed!

We couldn't be happier for Hank and Maddy. Thank you for giving this special boy the loving forever home he's waited so patiently for. Here's to the next chapter of cuddles, friendship, and endless happiness! 🥳🐾💙

Have you heard about our Barkour sessions?

Barkour is an activity your pooch can do while within our care, either staying in our boarding facility or a day in daycare 🐶🐶

Our Barkour sessions take place in our fully equipped agility compound.

Your dog will learn to go through tunnels and jumps, over ramps and bridges, and navigate weave poles. This session is loads of fun for your dog with plenty of treats to be earned.

If your pooch is full of beans or may require some extra confidence, add this to their day during their stay! 🤸🏼‍♀️

Since 2014, DFA has successfully placed hundreds of dogs in working roles throughout Australia and Papua New Guinea.

DFA recently had the pleasure of providing aggressive dog management training to a number of delegates from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health Program in Cairns, as part of the Animal Management Conference 2026.

It was a fantastic opportunity to learn as much as we were able to teach, as we gained insights into the challenges and rewards of carrying out this important role in the remote regions of Far North Queensland. The participants were extremely engaged throughout the day and demonstrated a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field which only comes from real world practices.

ADVENTURE BUS WRAP UP 🚌✨

Our Adventure Bus headed out to the picturesque Myola this week. We had wonderful bush tracks and the glorious turquoise ocean to explore. Each and every pooch were in their element.

From Polly strutting her stuff in the bush (away from the water 🤪) to Taj crash tackling the water, to Bruce taking it slow and steady on flat ground. We ensured they had it all.

Our PPP Tour Guides are working hard behind the scenes to ensure your doggos get the best outing ever. We have many new destinations upcoming!

Congratulations to all of our Tuesday night puppy class graduates! 🐾

This has been a huge class with a wide variety of breeds, and we’ve had an absolute blast helping both puppies and owners learn how to navigate some of the challenges that come with raising young dogs.

Puppy class is about so much more than just playing with other dogs. It’s about learning how to settle in the presence of other dogs, learning that engagement with your handler has value, and building confidence, resilience, and optimism in new environments.

Thank you to our partners Nowra Veterinary Hospital and Bay and Basin Animal Hospital for hosting us and allowing us to get some positive experiences in at the vet for these young pups!

We are so proud of all the progress these pups and their humans have made over the past few weeks!
