A Bit Unique offers a comprehensive equine bitfitting service for horses and riders throughout Central and SE Qld.

Have you bought several bits for your equine partner and still feel like they are not happy in the contact??

Or maybe you have a young horse and you just want to ensure they’re in the most comfortable option.

Alternatively, you may have a horse that is ready to move into a double bridle.

Clare from A Bit Unique can assess your horse’s mouth conformation, advise which bits will suit your horse and then give you the opportunity to trial the chosen bits under saddle.

😚 This horse definitely doesn't need any lip filler! 😙
When you think that your horse's lips couldn't get any bigger... you don't usually see how large their lip flaps are!

🤔 Did you realise that a horse's lips extend this far into the mouth? This is called the lip flap.

Quite often this part of the lip cushions the bit in the mouth but is very prone to being damaged by the bit if it rubs or pinches/ nips.

You can see how the lower lip and tongue covers the bars and often takes away pressure off the bars.

A Bit Unique 🩵🦄💜bitfitting services will be offering a presentation and discounted fittings at Caboolture Dressage Group on Sunday 8th March 2026. 🗓️

Is your horse uneven in the contact, tricky in the mouth, lighter or heavier in the hand than you would like?? 🤔🤔 Then this service is for you and your horse.

Gone are the days when ‘one size (and shape) fits all!!’ We only did that when we had no choice…but now there are literally thousands of different shaped bits, made from varying materials to choose from!!😳😳

This vast amount of choice can make it difficult to know where to start, so that’s where I come in.🤷‍♀️

As a qualified bitfitter for the last 5 yrs, I have been fortunate to work with some very high profile riders and their talented horses and have a high success rate with selecting the bit that will work for each individual combination at their current stage of training.

There is no obligation whatsoever to purchase the selected bit and I don’t sell bits. My mission is to give you as much advice and suggestions as possible, with an opportunity to trial a number of options that suit your horse’s mouth conformation and pressure preferences.😊
