Any dog trainer who feels the need to tear down other trainers to make their own methods look better is missing the point. You don't have to agree with everyone else—and that's okay.

Without proper research, context, or a genuine understanding of another trainer's approach, publicly criticising them is simply unprofessional.

What always amazes me is seeing decades of experience, ongoing education, and methods grounded in canine behaviour, psychology, and evolution dismissed by someone whose expertise comes from 'I once had a litter of dogs and observed that one litter'.
Experience matters. Continued learning matters. Humility matters.

The reality is that dog training is not one-size-fits-all. There are many effective methodologies, and every dog, every owner, and every situation is different. Each dog guardian has to find an approach that aligns with their values, their dog, and their goals.

No trainer has a monopoly on the truth. The moment we believe we're the only one doing it "right" and everyone else is wrong or cruel, we've stopped learning.

Instead of trying to dim someone else's light, spend your energy explaining what you believe in and why. Confidence in your own knowledge and results speaks far louder than attacking successful professionals.

Promote your own work. Educate. Inspire. Let your results do the talking.
