WE DID A THING! 😬🐹
Usually when we post a before and after, there’s a guinea pig in the photos.
Not this time. 🤭
For years, our old Holden Rodeo has carted hay, cages, supplies and goodness knows what else for the Lair…
She’s old. She’s rusty. She’s dented. 😂
But she’s also been part of an enormous chapter in our story.
When we started, it really was a case of “we’re doing a rescue with whatever we’ve got.”
And we did!
We used what we had, made things work and just kept going - because there were always little lives depending on us.
Over the years, Miss Piggy’s grew - beyond what I imagined.
More guinea pigs. More rescues. More hay. More supplies. More veterinary trips. More responsibility.
And somewhere along the way, “we’re doing a rescue” became “we ARE a rescue.” 🥹
So Rodney and I made a pretty big decision.
We’re selling both of our cars, we took out a loan and turning two older vehicles into one good, reliable vehicle that can properly serve the shelter for years to come.
And this is the result.
Our new shelter ute. 🐹💚
Built to carry hay, cages, supplies, equipment and everything else that comes with caring for hundreds of little lives - and signed so there will be absolutely no mistaking who we are when we’re out and about. Give us a “toot!” 😂
It’s a big commitment for us personally, but Miss Piggy’s has never just been something we do.
It’s a huge part of our lives.
So, for once, the before-and-after transformation belongs to the vehicle that helps us care for them.
Then and now. 🥹
Same mission.
Same little lives depending on us.
Just a slightly nicer ride. 😂🐹
