💕 TAKARA'S NEW CHAPTER BEGINS! 🐾

Beautiful Takara has found her forever home with a lovely lady from Palm Beach! 🏡❤️

With those mesmerising blue eyes and her sweet little face, Takara certainly knows how to capture hearts.

While she was with us, our wonderful volunteers spent time giving her love, attention and plenty of opportunities to play. And now, the very best part of her journey has begun — a home and someone special to call her own.

We're so happy for this gorgeous girl and wish Takara and her new mum a lifetime of love, companionship and happy little moments together.

Thank you for choosing adoption and giving Takara her happily ever after! 💚

🐾 **MEET MR MAGOO – THE BOY WITH BRAINS AND A BEAUTIFUL HEART!** ❤️

Some dogs are clever. Some dogs are sweet-natured. And then there's Mr Magoo, who manages to be both!

This gorgeous Dingo Cattle Dog cross has been impressing everyone at our Rehoming Centre with his intelligence, lovely temperament and eagerness to learn.

In this video, our wonderful volunteer Mick shows us just how clever Mr Magoo really is. Watching the connection between them is an absolute delight!

There's something very special about a dog who is not only bright as a button but also such a pleasure to work with.

A huge thank you to Mick and all our dedicated volunteers who spend time helping our dogs develop their skills and confidence while they wait for their forever homes.

❤️ Could you be the one to give Mr Magoo his happily ever after?

🐾 HOME AT LAST, SWEET SERENA 🐾

Some happy endings are all about that beautiful moment when a cat meets the family who just know she belongs with them.

Lovely Serena has been adopted by a wonderful family from Murwillumbah, and we couldn’t be happier for her. 🥹

From waiting in care to stepping into a home of her own, Serena is now beginning a brand-new chapter — one filled with comfort, affection, and the security of knowing she is right where she belongs.

What we love most about adoption is this: it doesn’t just change an animal’s life, it changes a family too. A home becomes a little fuller, a little warmer, and a little more joyful.

We’re so thrilled for Serena and her new family.

Here’s to a beautiful new beginning, lots of love, and a lifetime of happy moments together. 💚🐾

🐾 JARED HAS FOUND HIS PEOPLE 💚

There are few moments we love more than watching one of our cats leave with a family who already looks completely smitten.
Beautiful Jared has found his forever home with a lovely family from Banora Point, and we couldn’t be happier for him. 🥹

For Jared, this means no more waiting. He now has people of his own, a home where he belongs, and all the love and attention a gorgeous boy like him deserves.

And for his new family? Well, they’ve just gained a very special new member.

This is what adoption is all about — one little life changing, and one family becoming a little more complete. 💚🐾

Have the most wonderful life, Jared. We think you’ve landed exactly where you were meant to be.

💚 PEACH’S HAPPY EVER AFTER STARTS HERE 🐾

Little Yana, now happily called Peach, has found her forever home with Bridget, Greg, Fleur and Alfie in Tugun — and what a beautiful match this looks to be. 🥹

A new name, a loving family, and a whole new life ahead — this is exactly the kind of happy ending we love to see.

From the moment you look at this photo, you can feel it: Peach is already surrounded by love. Held close, welcomed in, and very clearly becoming part of the family.

For every rescue animal, this is the dream — not just a home, but a place where they are cherished, included, and adored for exactly who they are.

We’re so thrilled for this gorgeous girl and her wonderful new family.

Yana brought them together. Peach gets to live the happy ending. 💚🐾

Wishing Bridget, Greg, Fleur, Alfie and Peach many beautiful years of cuddles, adventures and special family memories together.

💚 MORE THAN REHOMING — WE'RE ALL ABOUT SECOND CHANCES!🐾

If you've been following Friends of the Pound for a while, you'll know how much we love sharing our happy adoption stories. There's nothing quite like seeing a dog, cat or rabbit find their furever family! 🏡❤️

But did you know that finding loving homes is only part of what we do?

We're Friends of the Pound (Tweed) Inc., a community-based, volunteer-powered animal welfare organisation dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals throughout the Tweed Shire.

🐾 FINDING FUREVER HOMES

We rescue, care for and rehome dogs, cats and rabbits who need a second chance. Whether they're surrendered, abandoned or simply waiting for someone to love them, our goal is to give every animal the opportunity for a happy, secure future.

🏡 WORKING WITH TWEED SHIRE COUNCIL

We're proud to be Tweed Shire Council's preferred rehoming partner, operating from our new Rehoming Facility alongside Council's Animal Management Facility in Murwillumbah.

This partnership helps us give unclaimed and surrendered animals the care, attention and opportunity they deserve while we find them suitable new homes.

🐱 PREVENTING UNWANTED LITTERS

One of the most important parts of our work happens long before an animal needs rescuing.

Through our community desexing initiatives, we help pet owners access desexing assistance, reducing the number of unwanted litters and, ultimately, the number of animals needing rescue and rehoming.

Because prevention is just as important as rescue. 💚

🐶 A COMMUNITY THAT CARES

Behind every happy adoption photo is a wonderful network of volunteers, foster carers, members, donors and supporters who give their time, energy and resources to make it happen.

From caring for animals and maintaining our facilities to helping with adoptions, fundraising and administration, there are so many ways our community makes a difference.

AND THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN! 💚

You don't have to adopt an animal to change its life.

🐾 Adopt – Give a deserving dog, cat or rabbit a loving home.

🤝 Volunteer – Share your time and talents to help animals in need.

🏡 Foster – Provide a safe, temporary home while an animal prepares for its next chapter.

💚 Become a Member – Support our organisation and become part of the community helping shape its future.

🎁 Donate – Help us provide food, veterinary care, shelter and the essentials that make second chances possible.

Every act of kindness matters. Every volunteer hour counts. Every donation helps. And every successful adoption reminds us why we do what we do.

Together, we're not just finding homes. We're changing lives — one paw at a time. 🐾❤️

🐾 MARLA HAS FOUND HER PEOPLE 💚

Beautiful Vixen, now called Marla, has found her forever home with Jack and Darleen in Bilambil Heights — and this photo says so much.

A new name.

A new family.

A whole new chapter.

There’s something incredibly special about seeing a rescue dog step into a life where she is wanted, loved and truly belongs. For Marla, this is the beginning of everything that comes next — walks, adventures, quiet moments, familiar routines and the comfort of knowing she is home.

We’re so happy for this gorgeous girl and her new family.

Vixen brought them together. Marla gets to live the happy ending. 💚🐾

Wishing Jack, Darleen and Marla many beautiful years ahead together.

🐾 SPARKY - A LOVE STORY 💚

Sometimes you just know when a cat has found the right people.

When Michelle adopted Patches on 2 October, he began a brand-new chapter — complete with a brand-new name: Sparky. ✨

And it sounds as though he has settled in beautifully.

Michelle says Sparky is happy, affectionate and completely at ease, soaking up all the love being given to him and returning it every bit as enthusiastically.

That’s the part we love most.

Not just seeing an animal leave care, but seeing them relax into family life — becoming part of the household, part of the conversation, part of someone’s everyday world.

Sparky is being loved wholeheartedly… and he’s giving it straight back. 💚🐾

We couldn’t ask for a better ending for this beautiful boy.
