Bain Fallon 2026 | Equine Chapter Science Week
What a fantastic week at Bain Fallon 2026!
This year, the ANZCVS Equine Chapter joined forces with Equine Veterinarians Australia (EVA) for Equine Chapter Science Week, bringing together a fantastic turnout of equine veterinarians, researchers, residents and students for an outstanding program of clinical education and research.
A few highlights from the week:
• 47 abstracts submitted for our combined clinical papers and poster session, with 15 standard abstracts and 8 lightning abstracts selected. The quality was exceptional, and a huge thank you to all our presenters and judges.
• Congratulations to Dr Jordan Flood, whose abstract on the use of an elastomeric pump for treatment of equine ulcerative keratitis was awarded both the highest-scoring abstract overall and the highest-scoring resident abstract. Dr Jordan receives free registration plus travel and accommodation assistance for Science Week 2027, where she will also present her work.
• Our international keynote speakers, Dr François-René Bertin and Dr Travis Tull, delivered fascinating presentations alongside an outstanding group of Australian speakers: Dr Darien Feary, Dr Peta Hitchens, Dr Simon Bailey, Dr Paula Larenza Menzies, Dr Linda Dillenbeck and Dr Steven Zedler.
• Professor Hutchins News Hour provided a highly engaging discussion on laminitis, moderated by Dr Angus Adkins with panelists Dr François-René Bertin, Dr Simon Bailey, Dr Hayley Lang and Dr Jen Lugton.
A huge thank you to our Equine Chapter convenors, Dr Bridget Bester and Dr Cristina Rosales, for putting together such a fantastic program, and to EVA for partnering with us to make Science Week 2026 such a success.
And of course, thank you to everyone who attended, presented, judged and contributed throughout the week.
