🧡 WHO’S UP FOR ADOPTION THIS WEEK?

We have some very special sausages currently looking for the right homes, each with their own personality, needs and little quirks.

🌭 Doug
A gentle, timid little man who is still learning that people can be safe. Doug will need a calm, patient home willing to give him time to build trust at his own pace. He is currently completing his veterinary care and we are accepting applications for his future adoption.

👑 Lady Delilah
Our resident queen of side-eye, opinions and exceptionally good accessories. Beneath all that fabulousness is a little dog looking for a home that understands her personality, gives her security and appreciates that some dachshunds arrive with very clear terms and conditions. 😂

🧡 Lulu & Hugo
A beautiful bonded pair who must stay together. These two miniature dachshunds love to snuggle and are socialised with children, crate trained and toilet trained. Both live with anxiety and require daily medication, so they need a calm home with someone around more often than not, secure fencing, limited steps and no other pets.

Different dogs. Different needs. Same goal.

A safe, loving forever home where they can finally belong.

If one of these beautiful faces feels like they might fit your family, we would love to hear from you.

And please share this post. Their forever people may already be somewhere in your friends list. 🧡🌭🐾

🐾🌏 WHO NEEDS A CARAVAN BUDDY? BECAUSE MONTE HAS HIS BAGS PACKED! 🚐🧡

Everyone, we'd love you to meet Monte, our newest little adventurer joining the Wiener Crew family!

Now, Monte is a pretty special little sausage. He was born blind, but don't let that fool you into thinking he's missing out on life!

This gorgeous boy absolutely LOVES getting out and about. Camping, adventures, exploring new places and spending time with his favourite humans. Monte is all for it! 🏕️🐾

In fact, we think he'd make the perfect little travelling companion for a retired couple who enjoy hitting the road in their caravan. 🚐

Monte does have one very important requirement for his forever home.

He needs someone who can be home with him all the time. 🧡

Being born blind means Monte relies on his other senses, familiar routines and the reassurance of having his people close by. We're looking for someone who understands his needs and is happy to have a little four-legged shadow keeping them company.

He's also lived with cats, is crate trained and, judging by that enormous smile, has absolutely mastered the art of enjoying life! 😂

We'd love to find Monte a home where his blindness isn't seen as something that limits him, but where he's given the support, love and security to keep doing everything he enjoys.

Because Monte doesn't need someone to feel sorry for him. He needs someone to share life's adventures with. 🧡

So, Wiener Crew, we have a question…

🚐 Do you know a caravan-loving couple who have room for one very special sausage?

Tag them below or share Monte's story. His perfect travelling companions might just be scrolling past! 🐾

Welcome to the Wiener Crew, Monte! We can't wait to see where your next adventure takes you. 🧡

🧡 Meet Bodie — part dachie, part Border Collie, ALL fun! 🧡

Hi, I’m Bodie!

I’m a handsome 1.5 year-old boy with a very important question…
Are you ready to keep up with me? 😂

I’m friendly with kids of all ages, dogs, cats and new people, so I’m always ready to make new friends!
I’ve already had some obedience training and I’m a good boy on the lead, too.

Being part Border Collie means I’ve got a clever little brain that loves to stay busy, so I’ll need plenty of mental stimulation, play and activities to keep my mind happy.
One of my favourite games at the moment is chasing my foster siblings—because apparently being a dachie isn’t enough… I had to add a little Border Collie zoomie energy too! 💨

I’m playful, friendly and ready for a family who will keep both my body AND my clever brain entertained.

Could you be my forever family and keep up with this fun-loving boy? 🧡🐾

79 DACHSHUND LISTINGS. AND CHRISTMAS ISN’T EVEN HERE YET.

That number should make us stop. 🛑✋️

Because behind every cute photo is a living animal who may be about to become somebody’s Christmas surprise. 🎄🎅

And puppies are very easy to fall in love with in December.

The tiny paws.
The floppy ears.
The excitement.
The photos under the tree.

But Christmas morning lasts a few hours. ⏰️

A dog can be part of your life for well over a decade.

That puppy will still need you when:
the holidays end,
school goes back,
work gets busy,
the novelty wears off,
toilet training gets frustrating,
the furniture gets chewed,
the barking starts,
the vet bills arrive,
and the tiny puppy becomes an adult dog.

So before bringing home a dachshund this Christmas, please ask more than:
“Would the kids love a puppy?”

Ask:
Are we ready for a best friend?
Are we ready for the dog who will wait at the door for us?
The little shadow who wants to follow us everywhere?
The companion who may sleep beside us, comfort us, make us laugh and become woven into the ordinary rhythm of our family?

Are we ready to give that same loyalty back?

Because dogs don’t understand:
“It was just for Christmas.”

They understand home.
They understand their people.
They understand routine, safety, affection and belonging.
And when that disappears, they are the ones who pay the price. 💶💲

At Wiener Crew Rescue, we see dogs needing new homes for all sorts of reasons, and sometimes circumstances genuinely change.

But some heartbreak can be prevented before a puppy ever comes home.
Research the breed.
Understand the cost.
Think about training.
Plan for work and school.
Consider the next decade, not just December.

And never give a living animal as a surprise unless the adults responsible for that dog have fully agreed and prepared for the commitment.

A dachshund may fit under the Christmas tree.

But what they really need is a place in your family long after the tree comes down.

This Christmas, don’t shop for a moment.
Choose a lifetime. And before you shop, Adopt. 🧡
