The full results from the 5 Hounds Titre Testing Roadshow:

737 dogs tested

2,211 individual immunity results analysed

90.9% demonstrated protective immunity

78.8% demonstrated strong immunity

50.5% achieved the highest immunity score possible

Only 9.1% fell into the range where vaccination would generally be recommended

Importantly, this isn’t an argument against vaccination.

Some of these dogs absolutely needed a booster and titre testing helped us identify them.

But these results do reinforce one important message = dogs are individuals 🙏🏼

STOP your dog chewing their paws raw. Steroid free edition 🚀

The soak handles the symptom. But the true magic happens in the bowl.

Stinging nettle - natural antihistamine. 
Green tea - anti-inflammatory. 
Raw apple cider vinegar - kills the yeast behind most chronic paw chewing.

The below recipe (makes ~2L, lasts 4 days): 
- 2L water 
- 8 stinging nettle tea bags 
- 4 green tea bags 
- ¼ cup Apple Cider Vinegar

Simmer water, steep tea bags 10 mins, cool fully, stir in ACV. Store in the fridge.

Soak paws 5 mins after every walk. Pat dry, do not wash off…

As vets, we see families blindsided by unexpected injuries and illnesses all the time.

Kaiya’s cruciate injury took us completely by surprise.

It’s a reminder that unexpected veterinary costs can arise even when you’re doing everything right.

Having a plan in place before something happens is a conversation worth having.

I NEVER conventionally worm my dogs.

Based on where we live and their lifestyle, it would be nonsensical for me to expose them to pesticides, potential side effects and immune stimulation when their parasite risk is EXTREMELY low.

Instead, I intervene when I believe it’s necessary using natural remedies and risk-based decision making.

I’ve added the below ingredients to Kaiya’s .bydrwill bowl. Portions for a ~20kg dog:

• 1 tbsp freshly ground pumpkin seeds
• 1 crushed garlic clove
• ½ tsp crushed fennel seeds
• 1 tsp finely chopped curly parsley
• Small pinch of thyme
• 1 tsp pomegranate arils
• Small splash of apple cider vinegar

Adjust according to your dog’s size:

• 5kg dog = ¼ recipe
• 10kg dog = ½ recipe
• 20kg dog = full recipe

We’ve built an entire system around removing healthy organs because of what might happen one day...

What if she gets pyometra?
What if he roams?
What if behaviour changes?

But we rarely ask… What happens when we remove the hormones responsible for growth, confidence, metabolism, joint development, and long-term health?

As a veterinarian, I’m not interested in practising from fear. I’m interested in physiology. I’m interested in better options.

Prevent pregnancy… absolutely. But removing healthy ovaries and testicles should not be the automatic default.

Dogs deserve better 🙏🏼

Routine monthly chemicals for every dog, everywhere? I STRONGLY disagree.

Not every dog needs the same flea, tick and worming protocol.

Location matters. Lifestyle matters. Risk matters.

These products are pesticides. They have been known to cause serious side effects to millions of dogs.�

I am not surprised Kaiya (my 10-year old Golden Retriever), had immunity off the charts… again. ��She’s fed a fresh food diet ( .bydrwill ) and lives on a farm when she’s free to express her natural instincts… running, socialising, exploring and playing outdoors.��I am on a mission to make this become the norm within the veterinary industry.
