Why are Dental X-rays so important for pets?
Did you know that up to 60% of a pets tooth is hidden below the gumline? That means that many painful problems can't be seen during a routine oral exam.

Dental X-rays allow us to detect issues such as:
🦷Tooth root infections
🦷Fractured teeth
🦷Retained tooth roots
🦷Resorptive leisons (common in cats)

That's why dental X-rays are an essential part of every professional dental procedure. They help us diagnose problems accurately and provide the best treatment for your pet's long term health and comfort

Odie visited us for a Dental Scale and Polish earlier in the month.
Check out his before and after photos!
In the Before photo you can see quite a lot of tartar build up particularly on the back premolars and in the after photo you can see that we were able to remove all of the tartar build up and that he now has lovely pearly whites 🦷

Dental Month!
What is Dental Disease?
Did you know that dental disease is one of the most common health problems in pets? By the age of 3, most dogs and cats show signs of dental disease.

Dental disease starts with a build-up of plaque and tartar, which can lead to inflamed gums, bad breath, painful infections, loose teeth, and even affect important organs like the heart and kidneys if left untreated.

This Dental Health Month, take the opportunity to check your pet's oral health. Regular dental checks, professional cleans when needed, and at-home tooth brushing can help keep your furry friend happy, healthy, and pain-free🦷

Vaccinations are one of the best ways to protect your pet's health. 💉🐾
One jab a year is usually all they need!

For dogs, vaccines help protect against serious diseases like parvovirus, distemper, hepatitis, para-influenza and kennel cough.

For cats, vaccinations help guard against feline enteritis, calicivirus, herpesvirus (cat flu), feline leukaemia virus, feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV)

During these cold months, why not treat your furry friend to something warm and delicious? 🐾❄️

A little warm (NOT hot!) pet-safe treat, like gently warmed wet food or low-sodium pet broth, can be a comforting way to add variety to their day.

Just remember to avoid ingredients that are toxic to pets, such as onions, garlic, xylitol, and excessive salt.
