We ❀️ puppies!!!

Spotty puppies, fluffy puppies, spunky, shy and rowdy puppies.. they just make our day!

This handsome fellow came in for a happy visit and worming today and was the absolute Bestest Boi.

Puppies require frequent worming as they grow and their immune system develops.
Give an oral allworming treatment:

πŸͺ±Every 2 weeks until they reach 12 weeks of age.
πŸͺ±Once a month from 12 weeks until they are 6 months old.
πŸͺ±Every 3 months for life (or monthly, depending on your chosen all-in-one parasite prevention plan)

Tip: Always weigh your puppy right before dosing, as they grow rapidly and under-dosing leaves them unprotected.

We can't wait to see Jasper again for his final puppy vaccination visit ❀️ 😍 πŸ’–

🦜 AVIAN INFLUENZA (H5N1) UPDATE FOR PET & BIRD OWNERS 🦜

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (H5N1) has recently been detected in wild seabirds in Western Australia. While the risk to pets remains low, it is important to take sensible precautions to help protect your animals.

We recommend:
β€’ Keeping dogs and cats away from sick, injured, or dead birds.
β€’ Preventing pets from scavenging wildlife or bird carcasses during walks.
β€’ Keeping pet birds and backyard poultry separate from wild birds where possible.
β€’ Preventing wild birds from accessing feed and water sources.
β€’ Washing hands after handling birds or visiting areas where wild birds congregate.

If your pet has had contact with a sick or dead bird, or if your birds show signs of illness, please contact us for advice.

***Please do not handle wild birds***

We ask you to please call if you have found a sick or injured bird so we can advise the next steps.

If you are presenting a pet bird (including poultry) for a consultation, please do not bring them into the waiting area, call us when you have arrived and we will come out to you.

Our clinic is monitoring the situation closely and following current biosecurity recommendations, so that we can minimise the risk to our patients, clients and staff.

Stay safe and help keep our pets, poultry, and wildlife healthy. ❀️

Rabbit and Titch just wanted to let you know that their two favourite vets are both out of action for the next week.

Don't worry though! We have some special guests stepping in to help.

The fabulous Dr Kirsten Hunter will be here tomorrow morning to see any Saturday morning concerns.

Dr Lesley Fantin, who some of you may have already had the pleasure of meeting, will be stepping in for a few days this and next week..
.and we even have a special guest appearance from none other than Dr Danny Thies!

Please be patient with our staff during this time as we work around some limitations and do our very best to fit everyone in when we can.
