🐾 Patient Spotlight: Ted — A Brave Boy With a Big Medical Journey 🐾
Meet Ted, a 12‑year‑old American Staffordshire Bull Terrier who has been part of the Bohle Veterinary Surgery family since 2014. Ted is a gentle, excitable boy who has navigated a long and varied medical history with incredible resilience — from skin conditions and allergies to surgical lump removals and ongoing senior‑pet care.
❤️ A Look at Ted’s Recent Visit
In August, Ted came in for the removal of several lumps, including haemangioma lesions on his prepuce and lipomas on his tail base and chest.
🧪 Health Monitoring
Ted’s pre‑anaesthetic bloodwork showed a slight increase in urea, and his chemistry panel revealed mildly elevated ALP, something we often see in senior dogs. His SDMA and creatinine were within normal range, indicating good kidney function. Excellent news!
🐶 Long‑Term Skin & Allergy Care
Ted has a long history of itchy feet, ear infections and skin flare‑ups. Over the years he has been treated for:
- Recurrent ear infections
- Allergies, causing red feet and skin irritation
He’s responded well to treatments, and his owners have been wonderfully proactive with monitoring and follow‑up care.

From vaccinations and microchipping as a young dog, to managing allergies, skin disease, conjunctivitis, and now senior‑pet lumps, Ted’s story is a reminder of how important consistent veterinary care is throughout a pet’s life.
He’s a favourite at the clinic — excitable, food‑motivated, and always happy to see the team and we love him especially when he wears his Dinosaur pj's!🦖
