Where do you go to escape the ever-present-external-pressures of life, to reconnect with your inner self and allow for renewal and refocus? I try to capture the quiet early morning moment before a busy day begins, sipping a coffee on the couch in quiet reading, meditation, prayer and a gentle stretching routine. I am excited about an extended period of ‘escaping my normal’ this weekend as I head to the beautiful Sunshine Coast where I can spend more soul time 💕

After levelling the ground and installing a box with my lovely labourer’s assistance, it took 120 shovels of wet sand to fill the base for a little storage shed 😮‍💨
(I wasn’t trying to to push through the metal pain of this task at all😅)
Even with morning stretches I know I’m going to be a little stiff tomorrow 😬
Covering the sand to keep out the big and little critters till it can be compacted is my last task before packing up the tools for the afternoon (and maybe doing a few stretches)
I’m really excited to have my own little space soon…very soon😊🤞

These little notes are the highlight of my weekend stall. I keep each one as a reminder of why I do what I do.

Thank you everyone who takes the time to write something. You have no idea how much it means 🥰

Unplanned morning harvest transportation solutions 😅

Aim:
- get everything inside in one trip without dropping anything
- use whatever is closest to you at the time

They both worked surprisingly well 👍🏼

Can you relate to this problem and solution??

I had a very pleasant morning talking about one of my favourite topics 🐲🍓How to grow and a tame your dragon fruit.

The weather was kind as we wandered in and around the dragon fruit posts, talking about everything from soil to living mulch to pruning, and watching the bird wildlife swoop in to enjoy the fruit as well!
A brief little shower brought us together under the macadamia nut tree where we discussed how to know when to harvest fruit and the surprising long storage life of refrigerated fresh dragon fruit!
A big thank you to those who attended - it a great Saturday morning 🥰

I love my bouquet of Japanese millet.
I allowed some of the summer green manure to go to seed for future planting and sharing with others. The abundance of nature is truly outstanding - one teeny tiny seed produces sooo many more.
I can only hope that what I contribute in my little sphere of the world multiples in the same way. We have so much knowledge and wisdom to gain from slowing down, observing and learning from nature.

A bag of café coffee grounds left to sit for several weeks can grow ‘protein pellets’ to supplement my chickens diet. The adult black solider flies are attracted to the smell of the coffee, they lay eggs nearby, so when they hatch the larvae have an immediate food source. The chickens love eating these treats 🤤🐓

I finally found the time to winnow my perilla seeds I collected sometime ago!
We love using the leaves with its minty, nutty, slightly anise-like flavour in our homemade fresh spring rolls, along with betel leaves 🤤
If you want to jaz up your spring rolls, seeds will be available at the farm stall when it opens again in February.
