🐸 THE TOXIC ADDICTION 🐸

QLD weather has entered its favourite season… ☀️🌧️☀️

Sunny one day. Rainy the next.

And that means the hoppy, toxic bouncy balls are out and about! 🐸

Cane toads are particularly active at night and after rain, and just one lick can make your pet seriously unwell — especially our curious four-legged friends who think everything needs a sniff, lick or bite. 👀🐶

🚨 Know the signs:
• Drooling or foaming at the mouth
• Vomiting
• Wobbliness or unsteady walking
• Pawing at the mouth
• Dilated pupils
• Tremors or seizures
• Difficulty breathing
• Collapse

If you think your pet has mouthed a cane toad, act FAST.

🧻 WIPE THE MOUTH OUT with a clean, damp cloth.

👀 MONITOR closely for any signs of illness.

📞 CONTACT YOUR VET immediately if you're concerned or symptoms develop.

❌ DO NOT rinse your pet's mouth directly with water.

Keep those curious noses away from the hoppy little troublemakers this season! 🐸
Because the only thing we want your pet addicted to is treats — not cane toads. 😅🐾

Tick season is ALL YEAR ROUND! But certainly more prevalent in the warmer months.

Now is the time to make sure your pet is protected and save those dollars in the long run.

⚠️ TICK SEASON IS HERE ⚠️

Paralysis tick cases are beginning to surge across our hospitals, and prevention is always better than treatment.

If you are taking your pet on long walks or exploring areas with bushland or long grass, a few simple habits can make an important difference. Check your pet thoroughly every day and ensure their flea and tick prevention is up to date.

Please speak with your primary care vet about the most appropriate preventative for your pet, as not every product is suitable for every animal.

Know the signs of tick paralysis and act quickly if something does not seem right. If you think you may have found a tick on your pet, or you are concerned about any symptoms, please seek veterinary care immediately.

Our teams are here when you need us.
