🩸A lifesaver looking for a family..

Meet our beautiful Pepper 🌶🐶

Pepper recently helped save the life of a very sick puppy who came into our care by being a blood donor.

Our wonderful girl was an absolute trooper the whole way through, and we couldn’t be prouder of her. 🥰

With her beautiful nature and so much love to give, Pepper is already a hero in our eyes.

However, she’s still waiting for something special of her own:. a forever home and a family to love her 💜

She’s helped give one little life another chance, now we’d love to see Pepper get her chance at a happy new beginning, too.

🐾 💛 RINGWORM FOSTER NEEDED FOR OUR LITTLE CADBURY! 💛

Meet Cadbury 🍫🐶 — our adorable little puppy boy who would absolutely LOVE a chance to leave the shelter and recover somewhere cosy, safe and full of love! 🥹❤️

Cadbury is already receiving treatment for ringworm, and the good news is that he’s not too far away from being all clear! We would love to find him a foster home where he can continue his treatment without having to spend this time isolated in the shelter.

✨ We’ll provide everything you need to care for him, including supplies and support.
✨ You don’t need to have experience with ringworm — we can guide you through it!

🐾 A little bit about ringworm…

Despite its name, ringworm isn't actually a worm! It's a common fungal skin infection that can cause patches of hair loss or flaky skin. It's treatable, and most animals recover well with the right care. ❤️

It can spread to other animals and people, so good hygiene, handwashing and following the recommended cleaning routine are important. Cadbury will need to be kept separate from other pets while he's being treated, with appropriate precautions in place.

🐶 Puppy quarantine rules still apply! Cadbury must remain safely quarantined and cannot go on grass or into public areas until he is fully vaccinated. His foster home will need a suitable, easy-to-clean indoor space where he can rest and recover safely.

We know ringworm might sound a little daunting, but with the right setup and support, fostering a puppy like Cadbury can be incredibly rewarding. 💕

He deserves more than spending his recovery isolated in a shelter. He deserves a warm bed, gentle cuddles (with the right precautions!) and a chance to simply be a puppy. 🥹🐾

💙🐾 HAPPY NATIONAL VET NURSE DAY! 🐾💙

Today, we’re celebrating the incredible veterinary nurses who dedicate their lives to caring for animals, supporting their families, and making a difference every single day. 🩺🐶🐱

Behind every successful treatment, every comforting cuddle, every recovery and every little tail wag is often a vet nurse giving their time, skill, compassion and heart to the animals who need them most.

From the long and challenging days to the emotional moments, the sleepless nights, the little victories and the happy endings, vet nurses are there through it all. They provide comfort when animals are scared, advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves, and offer kindness when it matters most. 💕

At RSPCA NT, we know just how much dedication, patience and love goes into this profession. Today, we want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to our own amazing veterinary nursing team, and to every vet nurse out there who works tirelessly to make the world a better place for animals.

As many of you are well aware, we have our Canine Carnival coming up this Sat from 0800hrs at the George Brown Botanical Gardens, and we are getting very excited, but we took a small blow today - we lost our Coffee Cart provider - do you know any mobile coffee providers who may be available at short notice - please tag away, or get them to call 8984 3795 ASAP - we all know how important our coffee is, and we are expecting a very good crowd!

🐶❤️ 30+ PUPPIES RESCUED — AND WE'RE STILL GOING! ❤️🐶

Since September, our amazing community has helped us rescue and care for more than 30 puppies — and we couldn't have done it without the incredible people who have opened their homes to foster. 🥹.
That's in addition to all our other many other animals including: Kittens, dogs and cats.

Now we're looking for a few more amazing people to join our foster family and help little ones like Cadbury, our adorable chocolate Lab cross 🍫, and Taki, our beautiful, affectionate brindle girl. 🐾

Our puppies don't just need somewhere to stay — they need love, patience, cuddles, socialisation and the chance to learn what being part of a family is all about. ❤️

There are always more puppies needing our help, and every foster carer means we can potentially say YES to another little life in need.

🧡 Sweet Delilah is still waiting for her forever home 🧡

You may remember our beautiful girl Delilah from an earlier post. At 6 years old, this gentle girl is still waiting for someone to see just how special she is. 🥹🐾

Delilah has only ever known the love, care and companionship of her elderly owner, who sadly passed away. Because of this, she is looking for a very special, quiet home where she can take her time settling in. Ideally, Delilah would be the only pet and would prefer a home without children.

The wonderful news is that Delilah is currently in foster care with one of our team members, and she is absolutely thriving. 💕 We're seeing more and more of her beautiful personality emerge as she learns that she is safe and loved.

During the day, Delilah is quite happy to find a cosy hiding spot and have some quiet time to herself. But as soon as you come home… out she comes! 🥰 .
She loves greeting her person and really craves affection, cuddles and that special one-on-one connection.

Delilah isn't looking for a busy household or an adventure-filled life. She's looking for a quiet place to call home, someone who understands her gentle nature, and a person who will give her the time and patience she deserves. ❤️

🐾 PUPPY FOSTER UPDATE! 🐾

A huge thank you to our amazing community — we’ve now found a foster home for 2 of our puppies! ❤️

We’re just looking for one more wonderful person who could take 3 puppies together and give them a little break from shelter life. 🥰

They’re now weaned from milk and happily eating soft food mixed with milk, and our team provides everything you need to foster! 🐶💕
